An exhibition of Limited Edition prints by none other than ‘The Godfather of British Pop Art’, Sir Peter Blake. Sir Peter will open the exhibition on the evening of the 6th August, kicking off a show that will exhibit recent work including the
World Tour series and the Paris Quartet released in the early part of this year. His work reflects his fascination with all streams of popular culture, and the beauty to be found in everyday objects and surroundings. Many of his works feature found printed materials such as photographs, comic strips or advertising texts, combined with bold geometric patterns and the use of primary colours. The works perfectly capture the effervescent and optimistic ethos of the sixties, but are also strikingly fresh and contemporary.

Tim Marlow Meets..., showing Thursday August 5th on Sky Arts 1 at 8:30pm

Tim Marlow meets up with Sir Peter Blake, the artist behind The Beatles' Sgt Pepper album cover, at Compton Verney in Warwickshire to discuss the works that have influenced and inspired him down the years and how his iconic sleeve design for the 'Fab Four' made him a much sought after figure in the music world, going on to work for the likes of The Who and Paul Weller as well as working on the Band Aid single sleeve.

Popped along to GX Gallery in Camberwell last night.
Very impressed with the 'I love You' prints in the flesh.
Unfortunately Sir Peter couldn't make it along for the book signing due to a death in the family.

All 4 were really nice and each had different elements that made them desirable.
Strangely enough the white diamond dust version was the most popular, for me the type got a little lost on the white ones and they weren't as vibrant.
The gold on the plain black version really popped off the print, whilst the gold on the black glitter version was a little muted, but was colours really did stand out more than the plain black version.
For me, although the most expensive the black glitter was the one I would have gone for if I had the money.
But the star of the show was the 5d print which looked amazing close up, the detailing was immense - I think it was part of a broken up box set, edition of 25.

The 5d is my wife's favourite but it's a monster and we don't really have enough room for it!

Out of interest, does anyone remember the original release price for the black diamond dust version?

Spot on.
Now up to up to £1,800 for the gloss version and £2,500 for the diamond dust version on the CCA site.
Glad I picked mine up on release - really stunning prints in the flesh.
