Banksy Print, Canvas, WANTED, by Cornish Crayon on Sept 28, 2016 20:59:31 GMT 1, I'd expect it to sit there at that price for a LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONG time. It is about time that the market corrected itself and signed prints sell for at least triple what unsigned prints go for. The unsigned Banksy market is really a bizarre phenomenon.
What a bizarre statement.

It is about time that the market corrected itself and signed prints sell for at least triple what unsigned prints go for. The unsigned Banksy market is really a bizarre phenomenon. There's a very simple answer here. It's not rocket science. Signed Banksy prints are now way beyond most peoples pockets, so the more affordable unsigned prints are the must haves. Most of these are now becoming more sought-after thus pushing prices up and up.

Most of these are now becoming more sought-after thus pushing prices up and up. I'd say it's more people being given unsound financial advice that an unsigned print is a solid long-term investment. Where are people getting unsound advice? My view is whilst Banksy only supplies VIP's, friends and family with his small paper editions and A/P's โ i,e 'Dumbo' and 'Girl With Balloon' and not releasing larger, cheaper editions such as Choose Your Weapon released back in late 2010, his older signed and unsigned prints are becoming more and more sought-after. This inevitably will keep driving prices up. In the short term I don't see Banksy prices letting up. Some interesting Banksy results from 'Made in Britain' auction at Sotheby's today. www.sothebys.com/en/auctions/2016/made-in-britain-l16145.html

Banksy Print, Canvas, WANTED, by Poster Bob on Sept 30, 2016 20:49:53 GMT 1, Your view does not take into account that unsigned prints are nothing more than copies without any form of artistic involvement. Without a signature, these prints are essentially worthless, which is what makes the strong unsigned market so bizarre. You can see these attitudes historically in galleries' and auction houses' prior and in some cases current refusal to sell or consign unsigned work. Find me a serious collector with a collection valued in the millions who advises to buy unsigned Banksy. You won't.

This is quite an old debate
I bought some rats at around ยฃ900 for an unsigned and the signed were selling at around ยฃ4k back in 07.
I would agree if you said things like posters ie petrol bomb, but not COA stuff
Your wrong, everyone else is right
The end

Banksy Print, Canvas, WANTED, by RoboJ on Sept 30, 2016 23:11:35 GMT 1, Even the flippin' posters people are paying good money for because the unsigned prints with coas are getting out of reach.
I understand Posterbobs point that unsigned prints may not have even been seen by banksy which may cut any ties of significance between B and these prints however the same could be said for any art, prints signed or not, that has not been directly made by the artist. They could just be sheets of printed on paper with no importance whatsoever... I guess it depends on the artist.

Banksy Print, Canvas, WANTED, by RoboJ on Oct 4, 2016 11:23:29 GMT 1, Forgive my ignorance. What does the term backdoor prints mean? Most likely it means Fake.
It potentially means its a print created by the print makers at the same time as the originals which wasn't authorised. It has no markings such as PP (printers proof) or AP (artists proof) and as such cant be authenticated. Unless you have a letter from the original artist confirming its origin then it will have the same resale value as a fake such as WCP prints. Even if you buy from somebody who got it direct from the artist, when it comes to you selling the piece you would have to convince somebody of your story which is more removed from its origin and highly unlikely to convince people to pay anything other than fake prices.
I hop this helps. I just wanted to give you the reality of the situation rather than the optimistic view you will get from potential sellers.
Forgive my ignorance.
