I have the greatest respect and admiration for Invader but am personally pissed off as I will now never complete the Invasion set so am stuck wondering whether to let them go or just hold out in case i hit the lottery and can pay market rate for the other 2
Its interesting to see the prices of inky and space one - makes me wonder what sort of prices Home and Invasion would actually achieve and whether people place these as the most sought after or whether the RuBiks prints would be

they are pretty nice, I think that series has the best of his embossed prints, but a couple of the invasions are meh in comparison to the best of the other series of embossed prints. For me it's:
1) Invasion - Black and Silver
2) Invasion - Blue and Red
3) Home - Mars
4) Aladdin Sane - Silver
Disclaimer: I own none of the 4 mentioned above and apparently never will.

3.. You are implying I'm building up the value of my two prints. Jesus I'm powerful if can do that! Lol I also have no need or desire to sell.
4. My prints are at the framers , they will come home and hang for a very very very long time. Hopefully my kids will appreciate them too.
5. Buying art that you love with an understanding of the market and potential increase in value is not a crime. It's called win / win. I'm not flipper and also not an idiot. I have bought very expensive art that has no secondry market value and I realised in my old age that you can get the best of both worlds and protect your investment whilst buying art you want to hang and admire.
6. I'm sure you're a good guy / gal but you shouldn't imply someone is trying to manipulate a situation when Infact they are giving honest facts to help others get the correct valuation.
This is supposed to be a community. Yes I'm knew but I'm no fool and not money driven in the pursuit of art.

Well, we've seen a lot of high prices quoted, even when we don't actually know what's been paid, but you say you bought yours at a good price.
Seems odd to ask for a price check on prints you just bought and must know what you paid.

Since I own no stick and it never did anything for me, I just accepted the doubling and tripling of a year ago as an outsider. But with invader, someone I've always collected, I didn't see why it would explode all of the sudden. But it did and you're right it should. I guess I just am surprised it took as long as it did, hence my initial skepticism. I'm lucky I was able to grab as what I did before this, and am still kicking myself that I could have had a home earth for around $1600 when I was on one of my "stop buying stuff" phases.like you said, I'm pretty much out of buying secondary market prints bc I think they're cool or because I want to complete the set. It's on the wall or pass now. |
