Jose Parla St. Giles print FOR SALE, by BKBOI on Jul 6, 2016 19:34:13 GMT 1, the shame is the condition of the print being rolled in a tube for more than 5 years. There will be issues unrolling that thing or at the very least will need professional intervention to flatten the print.

Jose Parla St. Giles print FOR SALE, by tvmusic1 on Jul 7, 2016 9:15:19 GMT 1, Just to be clear on a couple of points, the crumpled corner in the image is the COA, not the print. Taking on board the concerns over the prints condition, i have had a closer look and it seems perfect.I totally agree that it is a shame to of had it sat in the tube for so long. Shortly after buying it life got real and my priorities had to change with it.

Jose Parla St. Giles print FOR SALE, by docean on Jul 7, 2016 13:42:47 GMT 1, second-hand flat files aren't that expensive...I grabbed one recently for $140.
small investment to avoid keeping a print rolled in a tube that long.

Jose Parla St. Giles print FOR SALE, by Forbidden Love on Jul 7, 2016 14:47:11 GMT 1, Im confused, is this got creases in the border?
Not sure why it would put someone off from purchasing a print that is rolled. I bought a banksy WSM a number of years ago from someone that had been in a tube for around 9 years or so. it took a number of weeks to flatten out but its totally mint. As long as the seller knows its totally mint when they sell it.

As a framer, I would be more then happy to explain why so many are right in having a certain amount of let down knowing the print has been rolled in the tube for so long.
Paper has a memory, and the fibers in paper also have a memory so to speak, take that term as loosley as possible as its nothing similar to muscle memory but just a way to explain the possible issues. this isnt as simple as laying it fkat for a few extra days or weeks, especially a print of this size and the glocee and screenprint overlay tecnique used this print will probably require much extra TLC from a professional framer or paper restorer to get it to sit right and with that said you looking at a minimum cost atleast here in tbe US of about $600usd, possibly more.
natural papers can damage and have a very difficult time retaking proper form, unlike canvas which if made of 100% cotton will always want to go back to its natural state, paper reacts diff especially a print like this as i already mentioned, it will take extra care and respurces to frame properly its just to big a print to have been left sitting rolled so tight in its tube with the colors pressed. even if no sign of danage is visible i can assure you ut will be a headcahe to say the least to frame this properly compared to a print which was removed weeks or months later, but years on a print of this size and the way it was packaged.
for the original owner I would either keep it, and if your in a position were you absolutely need to sell then get a second or even third opinion becuase you may have to take into consideration the added cost to the buyer to have it properly flattened and repaired and drastically reduce the price ir atleast realize you cant get market value unless someone just wants it badly enough and doesnt care about the added cost of bringing it to the right professional for proper mounting.
GLWS and feel free to ask any questions you may have becuase i can assure itll tale more then a dry mount machine to flatten this properly and accuratley.
hope this helps

He had it flattening for a brief period before I took ownership. It remained perfectly flat when I gave it to MFM for framing and it still looks perfect.

Jose Parla St. Giles print FOR SALE, by mla on Jul 7, 2016 20:46:12 GMT 1, As long as you let the paper slowly relax over a few weeks, you can eventually unroll without putting excessive stress on the paper.
It is possible that it never ends up perfectly flat, but who really cares? Stick it under a mat and be done with it.
