on the ebay picture, there is a stamp that clearly says "counterfeit confiscated by" blah blah. So, am I wrong in assuming that this is not real uncut money but money some hacks in iraq were trying to counterfeit? So, real "counterfit" money? Regardless, the power in the paper is where it has come from (I assume for those who have it).

seems to me, the piece is to his m8. i would hope the seller would have asked beej first before putting in on the bay. if this is the case, its just like the guy, supposedly another starving artist, being given a cheque. all depends on the context imho.

Yes Beejoir will absolutely 100% definatly be at the show without one little shadow of a doubt!!
And whilst i know that Chris prefers his work to go to people who wont sell it on, I personally like flippers, without them i wouldnt have half my collection. I know its shit when you miss out on a 'must have' print and have to fork out loads more on ebay for it, but can you imagine how shit it would be if you missed out on a 'must have' print and that was the end of it, no chance at all to ever get your hands on a copy? that would be worse
As for the person who predicted Β£2000, i highly doubt it will get anywhere near that, everyone has showed their hands early on this auction, most people are already thining its too high already and there is no way this will out perform a signed LV in my opinion. It will slow down now, it might trickle over a grand but not much further.
Of course i could be wrong, i usually am

Beejoir π¬π§ LV Child β’ Imodium β’ Colour of Money, by tomhills1 on Jul 13, 2007 20:33:51 GMT 1, if it weren't for the baggers verbalkint then you would stand a much better chance of buying one at face value, wouldn't you rather that?
you could still aquire the print in the future, as people chop and change their collection and as such the secondary market is created. don't agree with people making instant 700% profits at the expense of a genuine fan. enough of us were aware of the print going on sale but chose not to get involved as it wasn't for us, could have chanced my arm but chose not to flip but be square (shout to huey lewis )

gent Γacardi on Jul 13, 2007 20:40:00 GMT 1, And whilst i know that Chris prefers his work to go to people who wont sell it on, I personally like flippers, without them i wouldnt have half my collection. I know its s**t when you miss out on a 'must have' print and have to fork out loads more on ebay for it, but can you imagine how s**t it would be if you missed out on a 'must have' print and that was the end of it, no chance at all to ever get your hands on a copy? that would be worse
You can look at it in another way... if flippers (the "I don't give a sh!t about the piece, I just want to turn it around for a quick buck even before I've received it" kind) didn't exist, then perhaps you would have been able to snag one for yourself when it went on sale, no?
Personally, I think the blatant flippers (the aforementioned kind) are a huge insult to any artists' integrity. They're totally using the artists' fame/skill/talent/ideas to make money for themselves. If I were an artist, it would be like saying to my face, "I don't care about you or your 'talent', I just want to make money off of you." That's like you climbing on top of my head and taking a sh!t.
But of course, I realize that's a very idealistic viewpoint, and the real world has many other variables, too many to consider in many instances. Flipping has a lot to do with the increase in value of artworks, and perhaps many artists wouldn't have gained as much recognition if flipping didn't exist. Typical double-edged sword, huh...
Just my two cents, sorry if it ended up being a rant ;D
