You clearly were not serious bidding 850 pounds as these are going between 1700 and 2500 pounds now and rising as very few people are selling them!
One on eBay in the states is selling at 3200 dollars and turned down offers of 3k dollars..... This will just keep going up and up as the colours are amazing....

ยฃ850 (sale price on eBay) - ยฃ728 (actual cost from Conor incl. shipping) - ยฃ85 (eBay final value fees) - ยฃ34 (paypal fees) = ยฃ3 profit

I was serious as this was 2 weeks ago, and figured it was a good starting point. I wasn't about to purchase it at what it sold for. I don't need an edition of 60 just after release for 4 times what it was at release. It's beautiful, and I'd love to have one. Just not willing to pay what appears to me market price for one.

No, I hadn't broken down the offer in my mind. I wanted to see what the seller would counter at. He came down quite a bit, but like I said I didn't have time to get back to him before someone else paid full price.

I think Mia said it best that the offer you put in didn't even sound remotely serious - i was once told on this site that the price will be dictated by the market - if you are looking for one 'on the cheap' then I think you can add your name to the list of people who are also trying to do the same.
I was fortunate to get one after missing out in the release - but it took a lot of work and was only days after the release..... I paid more that you bid!
The beauty of the print is just so difficult to describe with the colours being warm and vibrant and I'm so pleased I got one - if there is only 60 of these in the whole world and people are not selling then they will go further.
Good luck finding one!

My offer represented the fact that I was dealing with a flipper on eBay and wanted to see their counter offer. If I had been dealing with a member on here it would have been a far different one. I've given up looking for one, and have made a couple other purchases that will look great on my walls. Best, P

Connor Harrington - New "Grab Your Guise" Print, by yorkie on Aug 22, 2016 23:59:55 GMT 1, I was hoping for 15K by November so I can sell it and buy christmas presents for the family and a Banksy for my present to me :-) lol Yorkie! Considering this print release was, in part, a charity fundraiser, I believe members of this thread hyping this print, should really remind themselves of the endeavors of the charity this print was supporting, rather than focusing on potential personal financial gains. In that light, the comments they are posting, in my opinion, come across nothing but vulgar. I would also hope that anyone selling this print at a vast profit would make a 'proportionate' donation to the charity. www.moas.eu/ Seriously you are going down this route.... get a sense of humor!
The charity received its money I'm sure, the prints are in homes where they are being framed and displayed which is all that matters.... what was being mentioned is the 'going rate' and for that my friend perhaps you should think about donating a percentage of your sale 'Vinnie Nylon' to the charity if your so much in support of this!
If you don't like the thread then may i suggest you don't read it and look at other threads.

Connor Harrington - New "Grab Your Guise" Print, by Howard Johnson on Aug 23, 2016 17:06:19 GMT 1, God I've missed a good price hype on a new release! Those looking to buy are well advised to take a look at the EB pricing charts; price will skyrocket due to the hype, and inevitably plummet a month later, only then begin to slowly raise over time. Its essentially a law of physics.

I think art is enjoyed for the love of art. Even in this thread. I have not been a member for long but one of the things I enjoy here is the depth of knowledge of the members. Not only the depth in artists but the knowledge of the "value" of art. I know the value is what someone is willing to pay but it's good to have a benchmark from good honest art lovers.

I think that there has been a noticeable change over the last twelve months or so. Very little street art of graff is discussed anymore - living in the sticks I used to love the contributions to the various city's threads (no value I guess). Much more talk about the value of art. Many long standing knowledgeable members not posting so often (sal for example - how much did he share, and how much do I miss his posts?!). If that's the direction the members of the forum wish it to go, there is nothing I can do, save lament it. But I would caution that you should scrutinise members knowledge of the value of art; sad to say some people have a vested interest in talking the price of particular pieces up or down (I am not referring to this thread).

Well said....
I love the fact that people have opinions on art.... some I agree with, some others not.... Value is a subject that comes up from time to time based on someone wanting to acquire a piece or perhaps looking to sell a piece... for me that is also interesting as I don't think I'm an astute collector.... I buy what I like the look of and I frame it and place it on display (only one print was I overruled by the art police who called the 'over my dead body' and I had to relent)!
There will always be people who talk things higher or lower but ask yourself this - does anyone want to part with money with the expectation that it will be less in monetary terms than what you paid? I don't think so - I hope people buy for the love of art, I know some buy as an investment and thats ok too.
Forgive me bringing this up here but I think its a valid point.... Any of the prints by Zanda from the image below is available for less than 70 pounds (I cannot remember the exact price)....
To me they are stunning - the value to me is actually similar to that or GYG .... both have a beauty that in my eyes just works - completely different but just works... that to me is value and I hope people do continue to post comments and opinions and views and show me things that potentially I would never have seen.
This world is a big beautiful place and we always have a choice.... I chose to love art and I think (hope) the majority of the people on this forum think the same!

Yorkie Now stepping off my soap box!

Connor Harrington - New "Grab Your Guise" Print, by corinthia on Aug 24, 2016 23:33:47 GMT 1, That's a shame. Sounds like what I like was much better. This is all I know since I am relatively new. Hopefully this isn't as good as it gets!

Connor Harrington - New "Grab Your Guise" Print, by dreadnatty on Aug 24, 2016 23:40:13 GMT 1, I think art is enjoyed for the love of art. Sadly, this is the direction its going Coach. Many solid members were 'drivin away'. Some by the flipping/constant talk about $$$/too many sales threads(especially by new members) and some by management.

Stick around. This place can be great. Take a look through the "artists you might not know" thread, or one of the street art threads. That is usually enough to perk oneself up. Ignore me; just an old f**ker having a moan!

I've been missing your New York street art posts, my friend. You are going to force me to get off my lazy arse and visit the city to see it for myself!

Connor Harrington - New "Grab Your Guise" Print, by Hubble Bubble on Aug 25, 2016 9:33:27 GMT 1, It's very sad that this thread has turned in to a discussion of value and resales just days after the release. Is art not enjoyed for the love of art anymore? Coach I totally agree. I'm a (relatively) new member but I've seen a noticeable movement towards shouting about material gains rather than discussing aesthetic appreciation. There's a nasty undertone of financial gloating and attempts to inflate prices by predicting further rises. Not to say it didn't happen before but nowhere near as much. For what it's worth I'm not a great fan of Harrington, viewing his art as rather 'Athena 1970s poster'-like. But this seems a quality release and much more focussed on a theme and image. I feel the need for a Forum trip to an exhibition to discuss the work and have a few beers. HB

Am glad it's not just me; I do realise (and have been told) that I am becoming a grumpy so-and-so. An exhibition trip sounds like a splendid idea. Feral, 11, Steph, dibbs etc are usually game for that too. Can we leave it a month though? I have stuff "goin' down".
