I like them, I just don't understand the price...for goodness sake, it's a giclee printed with glitter. As are the album covers listed above. So we are paying Β£300 more for a signature? I'd rather pay Β£25 and have the limited (glitter printed) cover. I'll take his voice over his signature and save my Β£300. (the prints are quite lovely!)

most art seems obvious after you've seen it the first time, but maybe it was something special the first time you see it.
I like it, but maybe is (accidentally?) too flippant to compare airliners with one of history's greatest ever mistakes, and so few people seem to be into 3D's work anyway.

I quite like a few pieces ("Splitting the Atom", "Peace At Last", 'No Surrender").

Robert Del Naja π¬π§ 3D β’ Street Artist β’ Massive Attack , by pookz on Jul 24, 2012 23:15:21 GMT 1, Thanks for your comments :-), I don't see much of 3D on here. When I first saw the print I thought it was a bit deeper than that - maybe saying that people are still immigrating to western society with expectations that are false in reality, leaving them working to the bone for little retribution. That would tie into the title a bit more
POW claim this A print as clever and insightful as it is brutal and offensive - the floorplan of infamous slave ship 'Brookes' superimposed onto the blueprints of a modern airliner. The result is an image that provokes questions about empire, global economics and international trade
which might be a bit far.
What is interesting is the printing technique: A cyanotype print (hand applied potassium ferricyanide and ferric ammonium citrate used to create an actual authentic blueprint) on 310 gsm somerset paper. Framing behind glass is recommended as this print will fade in direct sunlight (however it can be regenerated to its original tone by temporarily placing in a dark place)

Robert Del Naja π¬π§ 3D β’ Street Artist β’ Massive Attack , by Feral Things on Nov 27, 2012 23:57:31 GMT 1, I don't think it's been mentioned on here yet but Robert Del Naja (aka 3D) will be taking over the old Crown Court in Bristol for a project entitled Battle Box. Things kick off on 12th December 2012 and there's going to be a soundclash, political debates with the likes of Clive Stafford Smith from Repreive and, perhaps most interesting for people on here, an exhibition in the prison cells downstairs which will be curated by Laz Inc.
3D was the first writer in Bristol and he is where the whole Bristol graffiti scene, and all that that encompasses, started. I don't think he's ever had a show in Bristol before so it should be a great night.

Robert Del Naja π¬π§ 3D β’ Street Artist β’ Massive Attack , by Feral Things on Nov 30, 2012 13:34:03 GMT 1, I'm surprised there's not more interest in this. For those who are interested, I gather this is now going to be delayed until January. A delay probably isn't a massive surprise for those who have waited for new Massive Attack albums over the years but, as with the albums, I'm sure it'll be worth the wait. The exhibition isn't just going to be 3D apparently but I don't know which other artists will be involved yet.

Yep, I'll be going. There's an interview with 3D here and it looks like there's gonna be six of these events over 18 months. I can't believe it's been 21 years since Blue Lines was released. I feel old.

Robert Del Naja π¬π§ 3D β’ Street Artist β’ Massive Attack , by Feral Things on Apr 10, 2013 21:19:51 GMT 1, I've heard nothing since December. I haven't heard any chatter about it around Bristol and there doesn't seem to be any publicity coming from Laz, so I'm guessing 3D is working to the same timescales as he does with MA albums. It'd be a real shame if they don't get things together before the venue gets pulled down.
