But wasn't after their deaths that their art really started selling. Also Basquiat, though collected, was not taking off until the last decade and always behind Warhol until very recently. Even recent articles have come out after he record sale where museums talked about how they missed it. Not debating their relevance etc... but only as reference how a 3D as compared to Banksy can be missed until later in life, sometimes decades after death. |
