Received Europe and Lab today. Agreed with previous post re quality of image and paper. Europe loses definition being such a flat image. Lab carries better. Condition mint and shipping great tho and at that price can't complain. Makes me want to press the button on one of the hand finished editions on Laz....!

Every time o go to order one of these with any belief these are by banksy/3D I just can't do it. Soooo creepy and ugly to me haha

If the news broke he was banksy. These would instantly be gone. As would laz stock. So it's kind of in now or forget about it. You can't get better odds based on what is already known vs. any lotto ticket. I think that is part of the appeal.

I'm still of the opinion 3d is amazing. But his book 3d and the art of massive attack certainly leaves room for the art of banksy. Timeline wise where he stops doing artwork as 3d and banksy starts up is pretty interesting as are the layout and quotes in the book...the book is pretty great.

Depends how technical you want to get with that wording. Banksy is run very much in the same way massive attack is. Lots of collaboration, lots of help. It's something del naja is proven to be incredibly good at. So is banksy robert del naja? you can answer that in a bunch of ways. To suit whatever purpose needed. Is he heavily involved? you betcha.

To those of you who seem convinced Banksy is a collaborative- I pose this question.   Money and ego do strange things to people.  I find it hard to believe that when artwork is selling for tens of thousands- Dollars, Pounds Euros, whatever- that no jealousy, animosity, squabbles or disagreements over money or other artsy issues (Artist representation, edition size timing, price, subject matter- (What Banksy is, was, or should be)  should/ would arise.  Surely at some point tensions would boil over leak to media right?

Every street artist including 3d has some kind of police record. Nothing comes up under robin gunningham relating to street art. Look at the places he painted there is no way one lonely guy wouldn't have a record a mile long. del naja was facing his 3rd strike so was robbo.

Banksy was originally created as a way to confuse the police ended up confusing the entire art world.

Banksy grew out of dodging the police and 3rd strikes. This was a different era you could actually go away for repeat offenses of vandalism for a considerable amount of time. From there the collaborative was set up (seems like a logical plan to avoid prison-- robbin banks) ..but as many have noted the free hand work sucked/varying quality/not of Del Naja's hand at the beginning (which is true). Than Del Naja introduced the stencil as a quality control measure. To me this has always been the signature of Banksy and why I consider Del Naja to be Banksy. Despite the many who have come and gone over the years.

Anyone who believes it was just Gunningham or any one person go ahead and run a social experiment and try to paint the same places Banksy has and come out with no police record or even alive.  You'll be my hero because its impossible.

Regarding money, if you know who has been involved there are large stacks of money sitting around.
Regarding ego, Banksy has plenty of that.
Regarding police/media, avoiding that is the main point. Don't end up in jail everyone can agree on that.
