With Stanley Donwood's latest newsletter anouncing a new show with Laz in the Summer are we likely to see Doonwood's stock/price rise in the next few month's?
Combined with the success of last years 'London views' after which his 'Pacific Coast' Red sold out followed by a number of the Limited Edition Linoprints. Also 'Pacific Coast' is now into the 150's of 200 so will fairly soon be Sold out. What will happen?
Combined with the added factor of Radiohead fans possibly buying his work I just wondered what people thought?
And yes before anyone ask's I do like SOME of his stuff and also have a couple of prints.

I'm not sure about the Laz effect, but it can only help increase visibility of his work (and because it's generally great stuff, increased demand will likely follow IMO).

I almost didn't buy a Cnut because of the Thom Yorke connection, but in the end the strength of the image won through, and I haven't regretted it for one minute.
I don't care if Donwood suddenly becomes The Next Big Thing, or fades into obscurity with the rest of the print run unsold - I love it to pieces and that's all that matters.

Think initially donwood was slow to sell cos of price compared to others (ยฃ250 vs ยฃ50) but now that other prints have "caught up" it doesnt' seem as much. This superb 9 colour screen print is now sold out on the slowly downwards official Donwood website. This was the album cover for Radioheads 'Hail to the thief'. It seems that along with last years London Views show at the Lazerides Gallery and another one planned for the summer that Donwoods work will finally be taken a lot more seriously rather than being labelled an album artist.
"My painting Pacific Coast was used for Hail to the Thief," says Donwood, who is sometimes known as Radiohead's "sixth man". "It was inspired by the landscape of LA. I was being driven along in a car and there were all these signs everywhere, big and brash, to catch your attention. I just painted everything I saw."

However, after red and white I just hope he doens't do a million colourways and instead gets some more new art out. (you hearing me as well Eelus!  )

Don't much care for the rest though - each to his own.
