Anyone have any information on this? , by RoboJ on Aug 1, 2016 13:34:27 GMT 1, I stumbled across this and wondered if anybody knows anything about it. I was told it's an early Banksy which was painted in Bristol. It was in a skip and removed. If it's genuine it does look like an early piece due to the stencil type/style. I havnt seen this image anywhere before though and it doesn't appear to have an obvious banksy style point to it unless I'm missing something? What's your through te and does anybody recognise it?Xbox

Anyone have any information on this? , by Daniel Silk on Aug 1, 2016 13:40:08 GMT 1, Your best bet would be to try and track down a photo of it actually on the street in its location. Maybe it's from the Bristol police station? Coz Banksy has a history of doing pieces there. Hard to say if it's a genuine Banksy, but if you could get a very old photo of it from before Banksy was so famous, then that would help.

Definitely an image he's used before...usually accompanied by a stick man.
It looks like it may be the same stencil

Anyone have any information on this? , by Cornish Crayon on Aug 1, 2016 13:44:39 GMT 1, Do you own this ? Stumbled (how ?)
Few things that jump out.....
Its cut out perfectly yet its incomplete !!!
the tags don't look like tags (more like signatures ?)
they have avoided the banksy !!!!!
The banksy tag is white and too close to the policeman (where the stickman should be)
Its on wood !!!!

It was in a clients office. He said a friend spotted it in a skip and picked it out. I was surprised banksy would have put his name in a different colour.

The name appears as an afterthought, and put on to fool someone in thinking this neat cutly out piece of wood in a skip is by banksy.
Also, the badge on the cops helmet is different when compared to the legit one.

Anyone have any information on this? , by Happy Shopper on Aug 1, 2016 16:49:43 GMT 1, Apart from the badge on the helmet they do look very similar, and pretty close to Banksy's style. Pretty sure I've seen similar, genuine ones with a white tag (other images). It also seems like an unusual image to fake.
But the "tags" on it do look a tad dodgy. Does the scribble on the left say Banksy too? Not like his signature or tag.

Anyone have any information on this? , by Daniel Silk on Aug 1, 2016 17:49:58 GMT 1, I think old photos of it in its original location would be the best proof if it's a genuine Banksy or not. That image is very old, so nobody was doing fake Banksy pieces back then, so if I was you I would be asking your friend where that skip was and then trying to work out its original home.

Anyone have any information on this? , by Reader on Aug 1, 2016 18:21:36 GMT 1, Amazing how many undocumented Banksy's have been found in skips over the years, they must have been practically brimming over at one point ;-)
It's a completely different stencil, maybe cut by a local as practice then dumped..or maybe meant to deceive, who knows. But not a Banksy I'm afraid.

Anyone have any information on this? , by Fake on Aug 3, 2016 11:49:10 GMT 1, I had a close look at the 2 images and I noticed a funny thing. the one on wood in your friends office has more details. Or more bits that where cut out of the stencil and sprayed. Also the police helmet of the male officer seems different but better than the known street piece. and the female offices now has 2 arms instead of only one.... So you might say it is an improvement on the once with the Stick man.
So if someone would make a "forgery" I would say you would cut the exact same bits out of the stencil and spray the same bits in the stencil right? But you can see a clear "progression" or "improvement" in the stencil on wood. For me it make the story of being a genuine street piece more likely.
I made a little GIF to show what I am talking about.

Anyone have any information on this? , by RoboJ on Aug 3, 2016 13:53:09 GMT 1, The green piece just seems a little less rushed. The stencil has been placed down properly to get all the detail and sharper lines?
I know PC won't provide a COA so there is no way of authenticating it so what do you think the realistic value would be? Given no COA and the image doesnt look all there as the stickman/tiger is missing?

Anyone have any information on this? , by Graham H on Aug 3, 2016 22:49:02 GMT 1, It never ceases to amaze me the knowledge that is shown on here at times.
Superb find Pepper Spray
Looking at the tagging / writing on them both, it appears to be the same piece ( with obvious bits cleaned and removed before framing )
I guess it just is left to decide if it was done by banksy in the first place.. But as someone said previously, a wierd image to fake. ( unless the stencil was available on eBay back in the day - like some are now )
Haven't some other pieces taken from skips / fences / door etc been given coa's?
Thanks again for posting PSP
