Anyone have any information on this? , by Pepper Spray Press on Aug 3, 2016 23:18:53 GMT 1, It never ceases to amaze me the knowledge that is shown on here at times. Superb find Pepper Spray Looking at the tagging / writing on them both, it appears to be the same piece ( with obvious bits cleaned and removed before framing ) I guess it just is left to decide if it was done by banksy in the first place.. But as someone said previously, a wierd image to fake. ( unless the stencil was available on eBay back in the day - like some are now ) Haven't some other pieces taken from skips / fences / door etc been given coa's? Thanks again for posting PSP it's legit (or a good fake of the original). here's a photo of the original in situ. if you need more info please shoot me an email - I can get details from the photographer. location etc. (will be up on banksyarchive.com soon. an attempt to capture every known Banksy piece. will be 100% ad-free and not for profit. should be live in a matter of weeks) 100% a Banksy. was done inside the Thekla (floating club - same ship the reaper was done on). can only speak on the photo - the framed piece looks good to me, but not my place to say it's the definitely the same

Anyone have any information on this? , by Reader on Aug 4, 2016 11:11:51 GMT 1, WOW, great bit of research if true, dates would match, hadn't seen that one before, always sceptical of the "found in a skip" story that's usually trotted out with these.

It is real why it should not ?! Thanks to Pepper Spray ! Colors match, location, graphism , why it would not be a Banksy ? We all Know that Banksy and friends more now than never like to keep secrecy and confidence, but go back in the years with this man stencilling and painting Bristol then the world. Banksy is not so mysterious. It is now that some seem to entertaining this mystery .. Why ? Prices maybe lol !

So maybe that's what people mean about it possibly still not actually being by Banksy, even though it's real... know what I mean!?
Probably is though!

Anyone have any information on this? , by Lroy on Aug 4, 2016 13:21:23 GMT 1, Happy Shopper , Thank you. Yes you are right. And it's a really nice piece, better with the tags. Streets live ! Anyway, by Eine, or etc... No need a DNA authentication : they were all in the same boat ;-) so, legit for me. As for some last artworks ( even in BOTI ), no difference by who done this or that, Banksy is the Godfather and the Label .., And we can see some difference too between some last artworks..

It's either gonna be worth fcukall or loadsamoney, either way you will get to meet Fiona Bruce

Anyone have any information on this? , by BootjackBandit on Aug 4, 2016 15:28:43 GMT 1, Apart from the badge on the helmet they do look very similar, and pretty close to Banksy's style. Pretty sure I've seen similar, genuine ones with a white tag (other images). It also seems like an unusual image to fake. But the "tags" on it do look a tad dodgy. Does the scribble on the left say Banksy too? Not like his signature or tag. That signature/scribble on the left is similar to the version Black Apple Art posted too

Anyone have any information on this? , by lha on Aug 5, 2016 8:12:01 GMT 1, Interesting to see the differences between the street pieces and the green one from the Thekla. It's likely there was a fair bit of inconsistency in the early stencilled pieces particularly if they were put up in a hurry. The one below is an early piece, quite poorly executed but I like it for that very reason. Could easily be seen as a poor fake/copy

There will no doubt be value to such an archive.
Art pieces aside, I'm very interested in learning about all the photographers who were proactive and passionate enough to document Banksy's work, especially in the early days. They will surely have some great stories to tell.
How are you dealing with these photographers?
In very broad terms, you could take one of two approaches:
1. Do the legwork to discover the identity of the photographers and their details, respectfully reach out to let them know of the project, and get their consent before actually using their work and publishing it in your archive.
2. "Fúck the photographers. They don't deserve the courtesy of being contacted and asked for their consent. It would be a hassle, some would say "no", and it would take me too much time anyway. Legally, my position is pretty strong; this is not-for-profit. So I'll do what I fúcking want with their images."

It's a pleasure to hear corner's aren't being cut, and that each rightsholder is being treated with respect regardless of the technical legalities.

It's a pleasure to hear corner's aren't being cut, and that each rightsholder is being treated with respect regardless of the technical legalities. no problem. the photographers I've been working with have been extremely helpful. couldn't have made this site without them being smart enough to document what was happening before it went mainstream, and for their eagerness to help contribute to a project that's long overdue.
if anyone has any questions or wants to help on the project, feel free to shoot me an email. it's been a group effort for sure.
