Reservoir Dogs - Old Street, by Curley on Jul 25, 2006 13:00:01 GMT 1, There was a piece in yesterdays Guardian about the space in Old Street where the Reservoir Dogs was painted. The Story was titled <One Wall, Four Artists and Two bananas>
i have it scanned but have no idea how to put it on the site,
can i e mail it to some one who does know ??
Basically it seems that it was covered with F*ck Al Quaida and was then covered by Faille and Shepard Fairey, it seems to have has been reclaimed by Banksy however it may not be real. Anyone seen it ?
The article also says Faile wrote <Banksy Was Here> as i in it was there, i actually believe Banksy wrote that as its in the same pink paint that he has used on various pieces recently. Also have a photo of this but again have no idea how to post it on here.

I think the new one is obviously banksy.
I always wondered if faile or banksy did the 'banksy was here' bit - both have used that pink paint. Could be either of them. or even someone else.

'Tis true. Couldnt believe it at first. Was texting Martin to tell him about new Faile stuff thats been pasted up (pics to follow soon) turned the corner and BAM. Looks shit, and what really bugs me is the rest of the shitty tags and flyposters on the building have been left intact. It makes no sense. I know its the nature of the beast and all that jazz - but it really gets my goat!! If anything this piece lifted an area thats never going to be "nice and shiny" anyway - its a stinkpit!!

Its changed again, and be repainted black background, with some obscure tags and random s**tty other bits. And you know what makes me sick....I bet it stays intact for longer than Banksys.
The strange thing is, wall was buffed back to complete bare stone - but last night I could have sworn I could still see part of the Samuel L jackson banana suit. Then again I had drunk 16 steins of larger in the bavarian bar round the corner. So will check when less blurry eyed.

All I know is I will be quicker at scaling the wall to get a decent pic of it...whilst avoiding the land mines and razor wire that is!!
The landlord of the pub is shit hot on people getting up on his wall where it is...but then again that scos I mostly tried it in broad daylight....Doh!
