Why did Banksy put a fake in Wall & Piece, by discoduster on Apr 22, 2007 10:17:34 GMT 1, Seeing that godawfull scissors stencil in Clifton got me thinking about the last time a copycat apppeared.
The shite oversize tag on the M32 bridge which Banksy put a letter in the Evening Post denieing responsibility.
So why is it in the Wall & Piece book? Strange.
This may have already been answered on this message board, If so, apologises, but if anyone knows let us know.

And the crapness of the letters is coz it was hand painted on with a roller not stencilled, (probably while hanging upsidedown).

By writing to the paper, one; it gets you in the the news, two; it bigs you up as someone who someone else would copy. Beats getting back up on the bridge and painting over it!
