However the guy has given his reasons for wanting a trade and its down to image. The art police are always going to choose a stik over a banksy as most banksy images are not very wall friendly. 2. In terms of worth more in terms of cost, a signed mint lovers is around £7-8,000 and an unsigned FC is around £4-5,000. There are many more of the unsigned banksy prints and easier to source than a lovers print no matter in what regard you hold the artist. The hyping of Stik's prints on this forum has been embarrassing. I'm pleased to say that it hasn't been happening recently. It's been refreshing. I hope it stays that way. I doubt his popularity is effected by the recent lack of hype.
For what it's worth, I like Stik's work. I posted a large number of pictures of his street work on the Stik thread. I've met the chap, and think he's lovely and wish him every success.

I am agree with you.
Some are talking now of " hyping " about Stik because of the prices going high since the last months ( since the amazing"' Baby " - they could reckon at least the top Quality of Stink prints - particularly the baby - and the printing.
The difference is in all the signature : I don't think that I will sell my Single mum Ed.50 ( in the entire world ) and signed for an unsigned print whatever the artist.
If I buy a Banksy it will be a signed one. Who knows, times can be crazy and lucky and will tell nothing anyway. Right place and right moment.
Just I think that Stik is not only an hype artist as he made a lot for charity, NHS, etc ... and paint big walks as the Acton's one !
He is not only a single artist and " a maker of prints " as a lot doing theses days, periodically , to buy farms or flats, to pay holidays or chips, etc etc...( I won't tell their names, I think that you know them ).
As for Banksy in the early years, some were lucky enough to buy one of his print, and I am not envious nor jealous at all. And have not arrested idea.
Edit: Monkey Queen is for me the best Banksy - meaning, colors etc ... And some others too.

Just I think that Stik is not only an hype artist as he made a lot for charity, NHS, etc ... and paint big walks as the Acton's one ! He is not only a single artist and " a maker of prints " as a lot doing theses days, periodically , to buy farms or flats, to pay holidays or chips, etc etc...( I won't tell their names, I think that you know them ). As for Banksy in the early years, some were lucky enough to buy one of his print, and I am not envious nor jealous at all. And have not arrested idea. Edit: Monkey Queen is for me the best Banksy - meaning, colors etc ... And some others too. |

If I buy a Banksy it will be a signed one. Who knows, times can be crazy and lucky and will tell nothing anyway. Right place and right moment.
I think there is a lot of wisdom here .... the first time a gallery owner explained to me that the Banksy he was showing me was not signed by the artist "but is hand numbered by the printer!" it felt a tad odd...
