Who's work is this?? Next to missing Banksy!, by cdiwell on Sept 6, 2016 10:44:16 GMT 1,
Whilst looking for all the Banksy's in London as part of my dissertation research I found this Cat Lady piece next to where should have been Keith Haring Dog. Keith Haring Dog missing, by this remained. At first I thought that it belonged to DFACE, because of the tag, but after researching I think differently. Could someone help me? Who is it work of?

Who's work is this?? Next to missing Banksy!, by cdiwell on Sept 12, 2016 10:52:06 GMT 1, Could I just ask what don't you like about it? I'm researching for my dissertation and I'd love to get your opinion on some other topics related to street art. Let me know if you'd be willing to have a few questions emailed to you

Who's work is this?? Next to missing Banksy!, by Deleted on Sept 12, 2016 13:06:38 GMT 1, What is it supposed to be? what's the message? doesn't have to have a message imho if it looks good but in this case I can't say it has that either. Poorly formed, poorly executed. What is that offering to the onlooker? a plain white wall or brick would be better to look at. Just my opinion and someone will probably defend it but art is in the eye of the beholder.

Who's work is this?? Next to missing Banksy!, by cdiwell on Sept 12, 2016 21:44:35 GMT 1, I am not defending it but when I analysed it I would say that the message of the piece was a retaliation to the removed Banksy piece of Keith Haring Dog. The Cat Lady is looking to the side at where the Banksy piece was previously highlighting that there was something there. Also because she is a cat it juxtaposes the Banksy piece which was a of a dog. In society it is well known of the rivalry between cats and dogs, could this be another theme? Cats are also considered a sly animal, this piece also looks promiscuous. I also notice that the body of the cat lady is in the shape of an hourglass and inside the hourglass, in place of the sand is what looks like small cats. I think the main message of this piece is that the cat lady is showing that its only a matter of time before a Banksy gets removed? I agree with you and think that it could be better executed, the lines aren't crisp and its hard to see what the piece if actually of.

Who's work is this?? Next to missing Banksy!, by Coach on Sept 12, 2016 21:58:29 GMT 1, Whilst Im sorry to say that I don't think that the piece is particularly good, respect to the artist for getting off their arse and putting it up. It's all too easy for the likes of me to sit in an armchair and criticise. If it was being flogged on here as a print, well, that's a different story.

Who's work is this?? Next to missing Banksy!, by Extra Ball on Sept 12, 2016 23:23:10 GMT 1, By looking well, we see that the author has made a first down then covered with white to hide everything and make another he thought best.
I can not imagine Banksy does not insist on white.
