open edition doesn't mean they will continue to produce them. Just means it's not a numbered edition. It would be great for the fans to keep making them but I don't see that happening.

Not trying to be negative but I don't think The Modern will be restocking. They would not have cancelled orders if a restock was coming.

Expect to see the flippers panic sell. I think the secondary market purchases are just based on impulse/ panic buy as well. For a bit more money, you could get the limited editions - though not necessarily for the original companions and dissected - for other kaws figures if one knows where and how to look for the auethentic ones.

I think it's kaws way of getting his art into the hands of all of his fans seeing as much of his work is out of reach for most people these days.
With this in mind I'm sure he will make sure enough are made to cater for the demand.
I think it will ultimately hurt the value of the original companions and dissected companions with so many of these smaller versions flooding the market.
