Kaws @ the Modern Art Museum in Fort Worth, by dreadnatty on Nov 2, 2016 14:57:07 GMT 1, Apparenlty, Colette had 100 plushes, they are all sold out already... LOL. Seems about right as to how everything else in this Kaws drop has gone. A resellers dream so far.

From me true only if within the EU because for items coming from outside the EU you have to add customs fees...which here are around 22% of the declared value...

Kaws @ the Modern Art Museum in Fort Worth, by siveone on Nov 3, 2016 21:06:19 GMT 1, Received today my three Kaws Sneeze issues and a signed Conor Harrington VNA. This saved my day. The Hypebeast issue is on the way. So just need some Companions. Some restock would be great, but open edition just means the edition is not numbered real number is not mentioned truely.

Kaws @ the Modern Art Museum in Fort Worth, by dreadnatty on Nov 7, 2016 18:18:10 GMT 1, Just my two cents - but based on the fact the recent murakami toy that went on presale takes a good 5-6 months to turn around - might give a clue about the Kaws open edition. Even if they sold through this run, I kind of expect him to make more, it just may take months to do it. Personally I was thinking he might do this every time he has some big museum show - and he does have something planned for CAM museum in 2017. I'm just guessing but I wouldn't be surprised to see more companions there. Also have the Sneeze magazines - purchased direct from Sneeze - been mailed out yet? Then why not just sell as many as people ordered(specifying that they might not come for 6 months) on the website in an orderly fashion and then send the order to Medicom? That would be the logical way to do it. just like Faile did for their open edition of Faile Dog prints?

Plus these are more compicated to make than a screen printed poster, so they probably didn't want to take more orders than they could reasonbly handle.
I assume the same as cornholio. The option is open for them to make these for every event or just randomly.

I reckon these will come out in waves, as evident on the Medicom JP online release, which states delivery time is 3 weeks. Pretty sure there will be a wave on kawsone.com sooner or later. It wouldnt be a wise move on Medicom to produce massive amounts and drop them all at once and have them sitting on a website. Gotta generate the hype and demand first to ensure all waves sellout.

Kaws @ the Modern Art Museum in Fort Worth, by Petrusino on Nov 7, 2016 21:07:47 GMT 1, Nobody thought to the fact that "open edition" could just mean open edition of the precedent ones (5YL), I mean open, without the box, housed only in the clamshells.... And maybe, for that reason, more difficult to falsify compared to the precedents versions which are sold on the secondary market with very few guarantees of authenticity by now. Mine are just speculation

The installation is not permanent in Fort Worth. It seems likely they did a run for Fort Worth and are likely to do more runs for future shows. I have no information to back that up, but if i were a betting man i would wager when the show hit the YUZ MUSEUM in march there will be a new batch of companions sold to support it. In my mind the bigger question is will there be an online release and will that be a larger, smaller, or the same sized batch

Kaws @ the Modern Art Museum in Fort Worth, by dreadnatty on Nov 8, 2016 0:35:18 GMT 1, Hope you guys are right but other than when the show moves to Yuz museum, Im not so sure these will be available again. However difficult they were to get in the US, it will be WAY more difficult to get them in China. Timed release/open release is just semantics.....its not like an open release goes on forever. The fact that neither Kaws nor the museum has said anything to clarify after this fiasco certainly doesnt give me any confidence there will be more available(other than the Yuz)
