CAMOUFLAGE (Tribute to Renรฉ Magritte) / RIJECA, CROATIA
โ'On a surrealistic level I made a call to attention to natureโs survival instinct - flock of birds camouflage as broken windows in order to blend in and disappear to the human eye for the sake of their survival. As a secondary reading Iโm playing with a tribute to Renรฉ Magritteโs birds holding the sky within them.โ Pejac
After his sold out exhibition โLaw of the Weakestโ in London PEJAC is now back to the streets. This time the artist visited the city of Rijeka in Croatia after being invited by the local Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art. The works were made during his 2 weeks residency.

โBefore taking off to Croatia it was sadly brought to my attention that the country bear hunting tourism is on the rise thanks to their endless beautiful forests holding a large bear community. Luckily Iโm convinced that despite how many animals get killed for amusement, nature will always persist. In such spirit the work was not painted but revealed by scratching off the wall.โ Pejac

His gallery work is still really good but doesnt translate in the same way, and dont think his prints are as good either. I dont think they are executed in the same way except for meadow.

Agree think his near the top I agree. I do think he's getting better at translating to other mediums though. But when so much of what you do is about placement it's always going to be tough to replicate. |

Definitely a point that sets them apart but keep in mind that Banksy's works, for the most part, are all "non sanctioned" and usually not possible to take the time pejac does for placement and using other mediums such as glass ect. Not to mention B having been at it for 16+ years with a massive body of stellar work and still anonymous and never caught. IMO pejac is still in the early stages of his career and even to be considered close to Bs level is a monumental accomplishment and well deserved. |

Pejac does much more for me than Banksy.
I had the chance to meet him during his travel and i really appreciated his accessibility, simplicity and knowledge. His art is very poetic, not always straight to the point and aggressive. It blends to the environment as if it has always been there but no one ever noticed it and its meaning. Smart and beautiful.

For me its easy to see (not comparing the two as I was late to the game and the spark that ignited it all does nothing for me) talent and him continually commanding our wonder with his work...I feel the dialogue goes...
