i agree it was easy to get (thanks to the heads up by the forum) and i felt greedy going for the gold set after getting a regular but kinda wish i had a gold now.

Also, one other note - these are really solid/substantial - the set shipped at 23lbs, so they have some real heft.

Unfortunately releasing things in a million colour variations is exactly what Murakami does.

I could've bought these when they were for preorder back during complex con but opted for clothing instead.

Glad you were able to get one! It's just the overhype on social media that's killing my vibe. With that being said, I've seen some awesome Murakami collection shots lately with these starting to arrive.

I suppose they're viewed more as merchandise than 'fine art'. But as his practise largely revolves around blurring the boundaries between the two that's not necessarily a bad thing. Wouldn't surprise me if even his megabucks blue chip work has little Kaikai Kiki copyright notices on them somewhere |
