As these aren't slated to be shipped till february you are NOT protected if you buy one now. If the seller disappears on you in Feb and never ships it, there's nothing you can do to get your money back.
PayPal protects you for 6 months though. If shipping delays happen that'll go down to the wire; but you always have more than 45 days. If you pay with a credit card through PayPal you can dispute through them as well.

Based on the comments here it sounds like the first day's allocation sold out yesterday and the Sunday allocation popped up at midnight California time and the set sold out before the show opens. Likely be some disappointed kids at the show.
