Eine in my opinion had his 15 mins of fame ages ago..... quite surprised he hasnt gone to another alphabet to continue the (in my opinion) boring and drab work.
Mr Watson's effort as depicted in the picture above is bold, vibrant and colourful ... I have not made my mind u[ yet if it's one I would like to go for and am struggling to see this on a wall in my house or office but I do like it.

Try asking your local Graf or urban artist if they've even heard of Whatson. Then try asking the same question if they've heard about the guy that does letters on shutters.
Print sales do not and never will define the relevance of an artist and even if Eine had never released anything commercially, he'd have achieved more in just his London walls alone than Whatson. Who incidentally is a throughly nice guy in real life, and his art is fine. It's just not comparable.

Your focus on whatson is really not that interesting..... my view was that whatson's latest effort is again in my opinion much much better than eine's.
Personally I don't dispute his involvement in the art from an early year, i can see some of his work on walls and appreciate it BUT I would not want it in my house. His last few efforts have been a complete disappointment and I'd like to see him try some new avenues.

It's not a matter if someone willing to hang or not his work on the wall or whatever..
What is objective is objective: Eine fame is reknown worldwide as a precursor of urban modern lettering. I do like some of Whatson works, but feel his art quite boring recently.

I hope that he'll create more pieces with movement without obscuring the faces of his subjects. I know visage-covering is working for Chevrier, but I feel that the beauty is in the facial expressions. I don't understand why he painted an ornate tiger face and then covered it up. I feel that the pieces that work best are the ones in motion like Dancer, Equilibrium, Climber and may some SNIK collabs.
I just didn't care for the background color in this print and I would've liked it better if the vase was more prominent and in better proportion to the flowers. With all those flowers, I'm guessing that vase would just topple over.

Try asking your local Graf or urban artist if they've even heard of Whatson. Then try asking the same question if they've heard about the guy that does letters on shutters.Print sales do not and never will define the relevance of an artist and even if Eine had never released anything commercially, he'd have achieved more in just his London walls alone than Whatson. Who incidentally is a throughly nice guy in real life, and his art is fine. It's just not comparable.
They well know him as a writer from well before he starting putting letters on shutters.
But history is not all it's cracked up to be. Look at blek - a very long history, pioneering even, and with a couple of classic images under his belt but who has, for far too long, been living off a quote and some appallingly uninspired and insipid art.
Whatson, on the other hand, is simply a waste of paint/ink. It's 'urban' art for the IKEA shopper.
