I am new to this board-so forgive me if I'm posting this in the wrong bit.....
I have a smiley copper I want to sell. It is the big one on cardboard (cut out) that was used in the Turf War exhibition (hanging from ceiling). I know it is very rare (I think there were 5 or 6 at the exhibition) and have tried to look on the net to see if any others have appeared or sold recently, but to no avail. Hence I am on this board asking if anyone knows how much its worth and where I could sell it.......
I have a few other pics which I am keeping for now, but this one is just too big and I figure I could sell it and get a couple of other pics I want (and pay a few bills too!).
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

"Smiley Copper", by weaver on Sept 23, 2008 17:57:15 GMT 1, Speak to a reputable auction house, get it authenticated by pest control ( the group who autherticate banksy pieces) and sit back fella, seriously doubt a private sale or even a normal gallery would be able to bag you what that lovely is really worth.
Lucky bugger ( I'm guessing your inbox is full already with folk asking what pieces you are wanting and if youd swap it for a eelus and 2 hutch's)

I guess you're right, the way its all went I should contact a big auction house to sell it....I have no idea how much its worth tho-I guess that would be a nice surprise tho if it went for a lot of ยฃยฃ. I nearly sold it about 4 years ago when someone offered me ยฃ5,000-Im guessing its a lot more now tho-as I saw a few other banksys I had going for more than that and they were just prints!Thanks again. It was something like ยฃ1,500 or ยฃ2,000.
That "print" description in the eBay listing was incorrect; this was actually an original on paper.
The piece was bought by a small-time dealer. If memory serves, it was consigned to auction a year or two later, possibly Bloomsbury Auctions.

I bought a ln from him, turned up in his van. ( I remember he told me he sold it , the copper, outside of ebay)
Nice bloke , yeah he sold it and bought a Warhol.
