Banksy • Festival, Destroy Capitalism, by Curley on Feb 6, 2009 9:38:45 GMT 1, I need you on my sales team. Either that, or you need medication. Are you aware of current market prices and where prices are now in relation to several months ago? Make any added value points you like (signed/unsigned/ltd edition/no more to release/blah but the trend is truth, some below examples for comparison: www.Expressobeans/public/detail.php/54587www.Expressobeans/public/detail.php/47114www.Expressobeans/public/detail.php/69496www.Expressobeans/public/detail.php/92887www.Expressobeans/public/detail.php/51733but hey, who knows, you could be letting them go at really fair prices? I dunno The only thing I do know for certain is that you will not be able to get more for them now than you would have been able to get for them in August 08. Their "value" may still be the same or even increased in the eye of the beholder but that's a completely different story to what people are prepared to pay (the true current value). Either way, that lot is certainly worth a pretty penny and would look fantastic on my walls, shame I'm broke really. I am aware of current market value but the value is the rarity of THIS particular matching numbers set and has to do with 2 L.A. prints that are looking more and more like they aren't being released (Festival, Sale Ends Today) and here is that link: www.Expressobeans/public/detail.php/57527 clearly shows that 'Festival' has gone up in value since last August and in 2 separate auctions so your comparisons don't completely relate, apples and oranges I do like a little medication though
Regardless of the rarity they are still only worth what some one is prepared to pay. From that i would deduce they are overpriced and they are still not sold.
You should put them to a proper auction if you are serious on selling as its the only way you get what you feel they are worth.

Banksy • Festival, Destroy Capitalism, by cookiemonster on Feb 6, 2009 10:00:04 GMT 1, A Sale Ends failed to sell at Bloomsbury Auction in December - not even reaching £800. Just because the 'Festival' print got silly money recently, doesn't mean the value of the set has gone up, u/s Grannies you can pick up for £600, as well as u/s Applause and Trolleys, even less for a Morons. Also what you are basing your opinion on is, a possibility that Sale Ends and Festival will never be released, so you are asking a buyer to pay a premium on a possibility, not a fact. Until any official confirmation is made from Banksy's representative, I would be more inclined to believe that these would be released at some point. That said, because you have a matching set, that is where the premium lies.

Sarcasm aside, it is a nice set to own, and I just hope you haven't missed out on getting a good price.

when are people gonna give in and realise that there are no more la prints. In 10 years some people will still have their fingers crossed for the unreleased editions!!

oh well, if that's the case I'd be happy to pay way above current market prices then.......

And if you want it now, you're going to have to pay me at least as much as that festival sold for. I can not believe that people let that slip by.
Although how much the whole set is worth? Don't know, personally I don't really care at all about matching numbers and such, but they are all a little different than the POW versions and the last two probably won't be released imo. But mustard should probably submit them as a set to Bonhams/Sothebys and get it over with. Waiting for someone on the Banksy forum to plop down the kind of money I think you want may never happen.

Banksy • Festival, Destroy Capitalism, by gbh on Feb 6, 2009 16:12:14 GMT 1, If my memory serves me correctly, the asking price was previously about 15k gbp last time around. I seem to recall there was a further punter offering a set for 20k gbp just before that period.
by all means, please correct me if I am mistaken.

Yes GBH, a few punters tried, and they all failed. I will also wait for Laz/POW to release them in due course.

Banksy • Festival, Destroy Capitalism, by cookiemonster on Feb 6, 2009 16:32:24 GMT 1, i don't have a burning desire to buy an u/s print which is seriously overpriced - so its not a big deal to me. So keep bigging it up, all hoping/praying that Laz/POW dont piss on your parade. One thing I know for sure, until I have confirmation from POW that these wont ever be released, I would still rather wait it out, rather than line someones pockets.
Up till the beginning of this week, we were all led to believe there were only 6 signed sets, and now you know at Bonhams there is a signed set 30/150. That makes the unsigned set less desirable imo

Banksy • Festival, Destroy Capitalism, by snausages on Feb 6, 2009 16:49:20 GMT 1, i don't have a burning desire to buy an u/s print which is seriously overpriced I'm not trying to big it up, just pointing out the fact that the Bloomsbury print which you pointed out did sell. And it isn't up for sale anymore, just getting the point across that if you want one of these you will have a hard time finding one and an almost impossible time finding someone willing to let it go for the price of an average unsigned la POW print, if that's "bigging up" to you oh well, but it seems you must have some serious desire to own one of these prints or you wouldn't have bothered posting here and wouldn't have gotten so worked up over it all.

It didnt sell at the auction, so you must have bought it post sale, so perhaps you overpaid for it in the first instance?

Banksy • Festival, Destroy Capitalism, by ryskip on Feb 6, 2009 17:54:02 GMT 1, My opinion on the value;
Grannies = £700 Applause = £700 Morons = £600 Trolleys = £600 Sale Ends = £1250 Festival = £1250 + 15% for LA series? + 15% for matching numbers?
= £6,750
Anyone think I'm close?

Banksy • Festival, Destroy Capitalism, by cookiemonster on Feb 6, 2009 20:04:53 GMT 1, mustard - firstly not once have i tried to bring your value down, because you haven't stated a price. My point and I would have been happy to have let it at just that is, until POW or anyone with authority categorically states that the rest of the LA sets wont be released, why do you and others who have a Festival or Sale Ends for sale, bring it up? Its like you are trying to kid people in to buying them simply because its 2 years and they haven't been released yet.
Secondly and more importantly, I have no desire to buy or own any of these prints, unless they are from source, so you wont be getting any PM's from me. So good luck with your sale, I would suggest you try selling them via auction, as others have mentioned.

£600 + 15% = £690 but like I said just my opinion. I bought an unsigned POW for £510 not so long ago, but maybe £690 is still too low for the LA version?
Best of luck for the sell Mustard

Banksy • Festival, Destroy Capitalism, by snausages on Feb 7, 2009 3:07:55 GMT 1, Yup, cookiemonster certainly isn't a 'new' member of the forum.
And whether they will or will not release the rest of the LA set, who knows? But you may never get any confirmation from POW or LAZ one way or the other so it's obviously up to the individual to decide how much they want to pay and what the 'risk' is. We're all adults here and everyone can figure that out themselves.
But I still recommend mustard submit these to an auction house, contact andipa and consign them or just pluck them on ebay and let it go. You obviously want to free up some cash for other things and no fish are biting in this pond...

Banksy • Festival, Destroy Capitalism, by bonesy on Feb 7, 2009 3:52:51 GMT 1, Bottom line, unreleased prints or not, I would rather have a GWB or a variety of other classic Banksy prints for a very affordable price right now(my .02). Sale Ends sold out last I think (maybe 2nd to last) and Festival was def third to last (Morons rounded out the bottom 3 in LA) its the imagery that speaks for me, not the rarity.
