Semi new guy here, so I hope this is in the right section.
Am thinking about buying a print through Art republic and they're offering a discount for the framing too. Has anyone framed through them? Have any advice or experience?
Thanks!

Haven't had anything framed by them and unclear how much you can specify, great thing about working with a good local framer instead is you can bounce ideas of each other and they can make suggestions on complementing the print.

Don't do it. They are known to have destroyed prints in the past. They are the TK maxx of the art world. Fairly expensive framed prints are stacked up against each other in the shop and a lot of marks on the frames. Buy the print and go elsewhere.

They used to have a bad framing rep (early banksy days), but they've sorted themselves out and I would say that every transaction I have had with them over the last year or so has been pleasant and for the one work I had framed with them, I was pleased with the quality.

but as you can see with Sturban Has Saggy Tits, opinions differ! I can only comment on my own experiences.
Framing can be very expensive and if it's not something along the lines of Banksy (which I'd only frame through Darbyshires or John Jones), I think it's worth while having it arrive framed from them.

I agree, pleasant to deal with and a top notch customer service. Just from past experience with a framed print I bought on secondary, excessive tape was used. I suppose it comes down to the value of the print you want framed. Do you know how your print has been mounted Viking Surfer?

I don't chap, admittedly I haven't used them for secondary framing and it was an Eelus Lenticular so it operates in a slight grey area compared with regular framing. It just looks great in this frosted Grey metal they recommended.
I'm highly against excessive tape though as there is absolutely no need for it. Everything else I've had framed has been through Darbyshires.
My friend recently had a Nick Smith framed with AR and it looks top notch, but I can't comment on the tape here either as it hasn't been inspected.
It would probably be best for OP to speak to AR directly and express any excessive tape concerns. They're also a member of this forum I believe.

My one was from a couple of years ago, so they could now be using a different framer for all I know. Don't ever try and remove the eelus from the frame, just in case..

Art republic, by The True Cubs Fan on Dec 5, 2016 10:15:02 GMT 1, Awesome, thank you all very much. I've reached out to their customer service and will keep everyone updated. I'm stateside so it'll be a little bit until it makes it out to me really appreciate all the help and advice.

Art republic, by k2 on Jan 1, 2017 18:57:34 GMT 1, They have a storage unit full of prints (not sure if only framed prints) at Big Yellow Storage company - no idea how long they're kept there for, or if it's just a temporary overspill. I know there's no climate control at the storage place, so I was surprised to seem them using it for storing artwork.
