Banksy Bomb Hugger Print, by fourputt on Jan 19, 2008 19:25:03 GMT 1, I'm thinking about selling my u/s Bomb Hugger to fund the purchase of a WSM or BME. How much could I expect to get for it? No provenance, but it's a low number and is in perfect condition. Thanks in advance.

Banksy Bomb Hugger Print, by jam on Jan 19, 2008 20:11:09 GMT 1, A Bomb Hugger went on ebay a couple weeks ago for a 1200 BIN, but it was sold within minutes of being listed as it was very cheap. I would expect fair market value today is more along the lines of 1500-1800 depending on provenance. Top print in any event, early iconic Banksy and I'd have a long think before letting her go!

I agree with Jam on valuation and on letting it go. Is there nothing else that you can offload instead? It's a great image and not quite so easily replaced. WSM and BME are strong Banksys though, so I suppose you're in a win win.

Banksy Bomb Hugger Print, by fourputt on Jan 19, 2008 21:15:02 GMT 1, I think I'd be happier with the older prints. As an adolescent I collected comic books and swore that if I collected anything in the future I would stick with older, proven pieces. Instead of speculating on newer stuff. BH is also an early piece, but I think I'll try to collect all three of the early extra wide Banksys. Thanks for the opinion. I am shocked to see that you think it could fetch over 1500 pounds. It is a popular one I suppose. Any other thoughts out there?

Banksy Bomb Hugger Print, by ben on Jan 20, 2008 0:26:06 GMT 1, I've found a good place to get your prints valued (or get a guide price) is to swpeak to Christies auction house. They'll ask you to send in a picture, or even bring it in. I found it usefull, especially when dealing with getting prints insured.
Good luck

Banksy Bomb Hugger Print, by jam on Jan 20, 2008 5:41:36 GMT 1, I agree that expressobeans is a great option, along with tracking sales on the forums. Major auction houses are out of sync and I don't see them being helpful in determining print values. EB doesn't figure in every auction from ebay so you need to be careful about that, and you may want to search completed auctions on ebay for yourself to be sure you have the most correct and up to date sales you can find. The numbers EB list can also be skewed on prints that rarely come up for sale, such as the Bomb Hugger you have... so you need to be sure you get the most sales figures you can to properly determine a fair value for your print. You also need to scrutinize past sales one by one as there are quite a few factors that effect final bid prices on stuff from ebay such as seller feedback, seller location, what the provenance is, good/bad ad and photos, private auctions, etc. Many folks looking to buy sight sales on the low end for comparables, but when it comes down to it there always seem to be some reasons behind lower the prices. I would definitely check into the history before you let it go, ask whomever gave the print to you where they got it, and try to trace it back so you can confirm details with POW. Lastly... if you even think of selling it for near a grand, message me!

Banksy Bomb Hugger Print, by craigf on Jan 20, 2008 9:51:31 GMT 1, Just adding my two pennies worth. I think ยฃ1,300 - ยฃ1,400 in the current climate is fair as the last few on flea bay have gone around this mark (other than the recent BIN one). I don't think the value is too different to WSM or BME so how about trying for a direct swap. This may float someones boat and means absolute valuation is not so important ;D

Banksy Bomb Hugger Print, by mydeaddogwontwoof on Jan 24, 2008 15:34:49 GMT 1, Opinions people! (please), have any of you got a Bombhugger print where the POW blindstamp is on the piss like this?, cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=230213070532&ssPageName=STRK:MEWA:IT&ih=013, is it like this intentionally because the white border is so narrow and they didn't want it spilling onto the printed area, or has the print taken a battering round the edges and been trimmed down at some point?, thanks in advance for any info.....

Like the stamping the cutting of the prints was done by hand also. I have a QV that is slightly wider at the top than the bottom--"said the actor to the bishop"
