cost to list something, by chichi carter on Dec 15, 2016 21:09:37 GMT 1, Sounds about right. The fee depends on the category, auction format and final value. They also charge a fee on the shipping cost, believe it or not. I believe they implemented that after realising some people would sell big ticket items at a very low cost but with ridiculously high shipping fees to spare themselves the final value fees. And Paypal also sort of 'take a cut' on shipping since it is included in the total amount that is being transfered to you. It adds up quickly.

cost to list something, by e3massive on Dec 17, 2016 13:57:11 GMT 1, Hi Bren,
Firstly I don't declare to be an eBay expert, that out of they way....
Sometimes eBay send me emails offering free listing or no sale fee, this would definitely make a difference for yourself. I don't know if you have an eBay account, but might be worth selling smaller items first and see if then you get the above offer? Re PAYPAL, that is an automatic thing and I could not find a way to change it. We sold a load of furniture, for peanuts, last year when we moved house, put cash on collection, but still people paid via PayPal, very annoying!
Good luck
