2 floors with decks and dancefloor downstairs - which (speaking as a DJ in the previous place) is good as it means no more getting elbowed in the back when people come in when it is rammed...
no 'private' outdoor space though which is shame as that area out the back of old dragon bar was one of the best things about the place - but still rivington st is a bit like an alleyway so people will have to go there to do the things you arent allowed to do inside anymore..

big respects to all those involved in this great bar..the new place is more sophisticated in its appearance but the clientele seemed much the same so i think the atmosphere once it gets established will be pretty similar to how it used to be...the major difference is the two floors so it think it will be food and sitting down/standing drinking upstairs and music and dancing downstairs as that is where the decks are (right at the bottom of the stairs) so my earlier comment about the DJ having a bit more space wont really happen!
very clever decision to put the door on rivington st rather than on shoreditch high st so even though it is on a main road you kind of still have to know its there as walking past main road it doesnt look like a bar at all..the big crew of people smoking in rivington st does kind of give the game away though that somthing is happening...
i predict it will get very busy as the capacity is not very large(approx 150 - 175 people i reckon) whereas before they had that huge outside space so got away with loads more people..so you will need to get there early to ensure entry if on a friday or saturday as i imagine they will be very strict on numbers to start with..
and the toilets are spotless so plenty of work to be done there to get to the state of the old ones with all the tags etc
all in all it seems like a good relocation and i think it will remain the bar of choice for those in the know...
