Is there anyone who is going to the Ghetto soon and would be willing to buy a signed Elvis print for me when they release more? I would be happy with an unsigned if it's all they have at the time. I live in the US and would, of course, pay you back in full. If anyone is willing, please let me know.
Thanks,
Tinyballs

Santa's Ghetto 2006, by ziggy on Dec 12, 2006 18:00:56 GMT 1, I've been 'reliably' informed the Banksy print will be released next week in edition of 1000 all unsigned and will cost £100. It will be annouced prior to the release, which I'm sure is to create the biggest queue Oxford Street as ever seen. With 1000 prints available I'm sure most people who want one will get one (providing you can get into Central London). Don't shoot me if this information is wrong, I'm sure there are a few different versions of this information going around. If the '1000 unsigned prints' bit is correct I would personally not stress too much about making sure you get one, LOADS will appear on eBay and I'm sure costs will be fairer competitive due to volume of prints on there.

I also heard there would be 1000 but heard the edition was 500 signed and 500 unsigned and they would more than £100. They had the biggest delivery of tubes ever yesterday morning as i was walking by. So it cant be far away now.

No definately not an LA print, I think we can all assume this is for the lottery system in the new year. It will be something new, as for signed, I'm not sure but nothing would suprise me these days.

Santa's Ghetto 2006, by RBK on Dec 12, 2006 18:36:34 GMT 1, They could put it online and thus avoid pissing off the neighbors. Plus it would allow no-UK people somewhat of a chance.

Santa's Ghetto 2006, by ziggy on Dec 12, 2006 18:36:36 GMT 1, The neighbours are very funny about people queuing that's why I was suprised at their suggestion. And with the Tube station next door I'm sure the police will be none too happy if 500+ people start queuing. I think the best thing to do is to just release it without warning in batches as per the Antony Micallef. It won't suit everyone but what solution will?

Santa's Ghetto 2006, by thetongue on Dec 12, 2006 18:54:25 GMT 1, It won't be released entirely online for the simple reason that it's a print for the ghetto I assume!
Agree makes sense to release in batches as and when, that way it's pot luck if you get one and will more than likely go to people who are actually in the store when it happens as opposed to chancers hearing and just queuing before.

One of the main reasons of the show is to sell art to those that go to it not to put it online!

Santa's Ghetto 2006, by ziggy on Dec 12, 2006 19:17:25 GMT 1, I think your right, this Banksy print has been hailed as a SG exclusive, I would not be surprised though to see a few appear on the POW website. I personally feel that would be a nice touch to give other collectors a chance. Selling at SG is much, much easier for POW staff though so you can't blame them if they don't bother.

Santa's Ghetto 2006, by RBK on Dec 12, 2006 19:43:56 GMT 1, If they announce its pending release there are going to be much more than 500 people lining up! I realize the majority is for the ghetto, but even with the LA prints, only 1/5 were truly released in the States.

Santa's Ghetto 2006, by BK83 on Dec 12, 2006 20:03:44 GMT 1, Someone else mentioned they thought it would be the maid somewhere on the forum here last week ... I think thats a pretty fair estimate, especially since the idea behind the image was the idea behind his show in LA and its his most recent street image.
My other guess would be one of the LA canvases, boys throwing the TV or the boy going down the slide....
any other thougts?....

What a great situationist art comedy concept piece.. there's never been an art riot ? Imagine, Oxford Street, Xmas, 1000 signed prints under 100 quid, a saturday morning press release to local, national and international press, a new outdoor Banksy sculpture piece unveiled bang on oxford street, a couple of mail outs to activist websites and art critics and the ball starts rolling.. before you know it, there's a riot on oxford street to rival that of the poll tax chaos ! and all in the name of art consumerism!!! ha ha.. genius. He'd go down in the history of Art as far more than a footnote !!! do it Banksy, do it !

Are the Alex, space invader's still there?
Also, what are the new Stanley Donwood ones like... anyone got a pic?
