Sorry disagree. Everyone is an artist! Some are just a lot better than others!

Hi MrSly. Welcome! What's your "original" kind of art? A screen printed one or a painting or mixed?

An "artist" is someone who engages in an activity called "art". So yes you would be considered an artist.
An "artist" also uses - and in my opinion this is important and how artists communicate to us - imagination, talent or skill to create works that may be judged to have an aesthetic value.
Art historians and critics define artists as those who produce art within a recognized or recognizable discipline.
An "artist" is also defined as someone who expresses themselves through a medium.
So what are you expressing here as to yourself, now that we've tossed off the "everyone's a critic" line?

So what are you expressing here as to yourself, now that we've tossed off the "everyone's a critic" Wow seems very serious here, Im just trying to share my artwork to be seen by other eyes.
From what I've seen this seems to be a rather knowledgable forum.
My experience is that virtually all the artists I've intermingled with have had a reason for what they are doing, and it usually isn't the literal one those viewing might draw conclusions to.
But not so serious, just a remark with regards to your "some are artists and some are critics" line. Gotta back that talk up.
Now your artwork is very similar to many artists that post here - I think everyone seems to have a Marilyn in the portfolio. I think more people have seen Marilyn than Jesus in a taco.
But you took the step to reach out on here - a big and I'm sure nervous step that every artist feels.
So what are you saying? Do you have an artist or mission statement on the horror of pop culture infiltrating and co-opting the street? Maybe showing how crass commercialism can be inverted and accepted? Quick buck? Artist statement about becoming rich works, that was Stephen Keene's marketing plan, make a million $ by making a million paintings, to be sold for $1-10 dollars each.

I did laugh out loud when you reposted street art from 2008 in London street art thread(that's for current stuff)😀 Just relax a bit and get used to the forum & wish you luck with your exhibition soon. 😀

Or are you just trying to show off rudimentary photoshop skills and make a quick buck?
I think you should show more respect to your audience and the urban art community here on the forum.
We want to engage and support upcoming artists like yourself, we're not attacking you and I think everyone has been very welcoming so far.
As doyle said, just relax a bit and start a dialogue with your audience and the community, nobody is out to get you, we're here to help

What paper is it? I know your printers call it Warhol but it'll have a real mane. If you list the real name of the paper potential buyers will know or be able to find out if it's a quality paper or not.

Is there any chance of the actual paper info ?
