I agree. His artwork is very hit and miss (I wouldn't personally hang that Marilyn piece on my wall ), yet has a massive cult following. The story behind Mr. Brainwash is that he filmed and was the so-called 'sidekick' to Banksy during the 2010 'Exit Through The Gift Shop' documentary about Banksy. This gave him the platform to sell as an artist. Many people say he wouldn't be in the position he is in today if it weren't for Banksy!

He seems to just use iconic images created by other people and put his signature on them.

His Exit thru the Brain cell movie publicity created the opportunity for him to set up a show in LA and sell himself with lots of promotion as the next big shit. Which I guess made a change from him selling clothes with copyrighted stolen images on them.

and he had the gall to try to sue a festival in LA who used the words "life is beautiful" in their name.

He posed with Misses Obama on world womens day, when she could have posed with a femal street artist.

Who knows maybe Brainwash has the right La La land connections and heritage.

People like crap and are buying Brainwash stuff cos he is some sort of plan B celebrity and for many consumers, if other people buy it then they want to buy it too.

The asking price for the Marilyn Manson canvas portrait is ridiculous.

Plagiarism pays and some galelries collude in my view.

For the same money there is so much great art out there that has street cred and won't look desperate on peoples walls but there again sheep are sheep.

Looks like your "decades" of contacts don't want to buy this either...please go sell your art elsewhere, this is not what this board is for. Best of luck.
