Pure Evil, D*Face and Paul Insect, by Happy Shopper on Jan 26, 2017 12:26:57 GMT 1, Roseberys The show was Bullion (maybe just a typo there). Damien Hirst was reported to have bought ALL the work from the Show. And Paul was working with Banksy long before that, not just after.

You and I are going to get along just fine as they say in the movies. Loving the tear gassed eyes vibes She'll be there whining for attention when they start building the wall as Pink Floyd sign up for a geriatric revival set.

Pure Evil, D*Face and Paul Insect, by avec art on Jan 26, 2017 14:06:19 GMT 1, Funny isn't it, after more than 10 years of amazing street / urban art, which has been derided and looked down upon by mainstream galleries and auction houses. Regularly written off as a flash in the pan, and a bubble which is always about to burst. Eventually they can no longer ignore the collector interest it creates, so they decide to herald themselves as ambassadors of the scene, why not actually having any real knowledge of what has taken place and the background to much of the artists and events that most of us here just take for granted. There are quite a few examples of this happening lately I think. If the wealthy establishment were to open their minds to the possibilities of what art can actually be, and had the courage to judge what is good, rather than only following the coin, perhaps they wouldn't always be having to play catch up like this and coming across as so profoundly cynical.
Edit: Perhaps it's still better late than never.

Edit: Perhaps it's still better late than never. Sir you are correct and eloquent with it, i'm almost regretting the pile of burgers photo. It is tragic how little actual knowledge these people have and it just makes any attempt to sell appear opportunist and mercenary. Haven't seen anything from Kostabi in a while, I mean I know he gave up painting his own stuff at all after the eighties. As Mayor Koch said "Time will tell"

Haven't seen anything from Kostabi in a while, I mean I know he gave up painting his own stuff at all after the eighties. As Mayor Koch said "Time will tell" I think it's not easy for salerooms to know the full history or any history regarding the recent urban artists who sell in galleries and sell prints to investors. Ten years is a very short time in art and sale rooms refer to artists biographies and info given to them by sellers and galleries. Some urban artists deliberately or not have very little info available about themselves.
It's not the saleroom that's mercenary, they offer a service and sellers consign to auction. It goes back thousands of years.
Costabi reminds me of urban art(ist's) today in some ways.
