Snik π¬π§ Stencil Artists β’ Street Art β’ Art For Sale, by leebs on Feb 3, 2017 9:37:31 GMT 1, What's the difference with POW doing it? There doesn't seem to be the outcry then.. I don't see the problem with repaying valued customers. NB I didn't buy from this print drop or any other to date from GP

No outcry, just an observation and my thoughts. Seems that the determine few on here can get passed GP "vetting" process anyway which most people to scrap over just a handful of prints. Anyway still this - it's double bubble time, drop me a PM if you fancy doubling your money on this one

Snik π¬π§ Stencil Artists β’ Street Art β’ Art For Sale, by Deleted on Feb 3, 2017 11:44:27 GMT 1, Putting myself through it again today trying for Jamiroquai tickets! on there way in advance, doors open and nothing! that was a venue I was willing to take any tickets for. I'm even more limited when fussy over O2 seats!
p.s Still on the lookout for sn1k or snik print.

Snik π¬π§ Stencil Artists β’ Street Art β’ Art For Sale, by Jaylove on Feb 3, 2017 12:00:49 GMT 1, how exactly does a bot work?
is it something as simple as the firefox check for change add on?
I was under the impression that a bot not only recognized the page change, but somehow secured a print in a cart that could easily be purchased without worry of someone else getting though payment before you.
are bots the same as people running scripts?
I feel so old byΒ simply relying on an alarm clock and my f5 key.
It's just a script, pretty much a programme / app / macro that records and then plays back the key strokes and clicks .....so while it might be more responsive than it takes a human to realise the work is up, then wait another 4 seconds because you pressed f5 again In all the excitement and then manually enter your details....the bot has filled it all in and submitted for purchase....it doesn't guarantee you'll bag one but it gives a big advantage.....and yes like Firefox it can monitor the pages for changes and only execute when the buy button pops up. It's simple to create a script for standard commerce sites like big cartel or any site with a straight forward cart and checkout process. The only site I know that actually does something to level the playing field is Graffiti Prints who change the IP / URL of the drop page a few minutes before release which then fucks the scripts as they are then watching the wrong page.
How depressing. Thanks for the insight.

Snik π¬π§ Stencil Artists β’ Street Art β’ Art For Sale, by 11 on Feb 3, 2017 13:44:37 GMT 1, Well GP destroys the level playing field by lying and pre-selling 67% of the release when they said that all prints will be available. They're not doing much to help you are they? I've been around long enough to know nearly every print release caters for pre-sales so I really don't get your personal tirade against GP
But Yh fuck that GP - who the fuck does he think he is with his successful business, friendly service and looking after his good customers - if you're not getting that yourself PB then I'd say there's a damn good reason

Snik π¬π§ Stencil Artists β’ Street Art β’ Art For Sale, by Art Fan 2011 on Feb 3, 2017 13:48:48 GMT 1, Wonder what constitutes a "good" customer? And how does one become known as a "good" customer when it's virtually impossible to purchase at the drop and you can't buy on pre-sale as your not on the aforementioned "good" customer list.

Snik π¬π§ Stencil Artists β’ Street Art β’ Art For Sale, by 11 on Feb 3, 2017 14:06:35 GMT 1, I'd say one that takes the time to build a personal relationship with GP and actually establishing a level Of friendship. Under the GP covers is a family man that does actually try and do right by as many as he can
Imo it must be hard when you get also sorts of emails from people pleading for a favour when he doesn't here from them other than when the next print is announced - I know him, I've met him in person and I might even send him the occasional bit of abuse by text but that fucker has turned down more than he has done me a favour and I still think he's a top bloke
But this is a classic example of what UAA does to every artist and gallery that has any level of success, they are applauded and courted and then quickly resented and vilified.....and then they're gone
i suspect this place accounts for no more than 10% of their sales but this place acts like it's Donald Trump of the forum art world - I may have even thought that myself once......but no π

But for an extra Β£200 on what you are willing to pay, you can get a canvas edition and not line the pockets of the flippers.

Snik π¬π§ Stencil Artists β’ Street Art β’ Art For Sale, by kapusta on Feb 3, 2017 16:47:07 GMT 1, Although the canvases are nice and I appreciate the technical aspects of them (using hand-cut stencils), these hand-finished screen print versions are much more vibrant, clean, and larger. I totally understand someone preferring the prints to the canvases in this case. I know I do.

Fair point about the canvas size, didn't realise it was that small. Very odd to have made them that much smaller.
