I would like to build a GREAT Apple TV app that displays curated galleries of art and user curated galleries on their HDTV. The main feature being a slideshow of art.
I know there are a couple of apps that do this already (I.e. Art Channel, Artcast, etc) but I think I can do this much better. I previously made Classix (Apple TV, iPhone & iPad), plus many other top apps in Canada. I think I can make a really great art app!
The problem with other apps is there is not much street art or pop art displayed, only classical art. I assume this mainly has to do with the image copyright issue.
My question is do you know if I could take images from the MOMA website and give the image credit to the owner of the image (I.e. The Andy Warhol Foundation)?
Or
Does anyone know a good source for high-res photography of art where I could get rights to great pictures from a large selection of artists?
I would also appreciate any input from galleries who have knowledge of image rights for artwork.
