I think it's a bit overpriced. Could easily see picking that up for a couple of hundred USD cheaper. The color is really nice tho, nicer than most of the other swoon prints I have seen.

Yeah, honestly if it was $500 I would be fine with it...$700 is a bit much.

Swoon 🇺🇸 Contemporary Art • Street Art • Art For Sale, by Francis on Aug 15, 2008 17:14:59 GMT 1, This would be sold out by now if they priced it at $250. Shame on Papermonster. Their pricing is ridiculous. Almost all their prints are going for under cost on the secondary market, so that tells you something right there.

That doesn't matter. She could have pieces at every major museum in every major city in the world and it wouldn't matter. What matters when it comes to pricing is the market.

I was not making a corelation between her work and how much it is worth (the market) . I was simply pointing out that Swoon, as an artist, did not need Banksy to make her succesful. In addition, success is only measured by how much a print can be resold for on this forum.

Of course you're right Thom that Swoon does not need Mr B to enjoy 'success'. However, you make a gross overstatement about this forum when you talk about how success is measured.
Read what people say in so many threads and you will find informed personal opinions about what people like and dislike about art. Look at the 'Get them out' and the 'Under £50' threads for starters and see how people enjoy their art regardless of resale print value.
Choe's secondary market print value for example has dropped considerably over the last few months. This does not detract from the fact that many people here love and respect his work and appreciate him as a successful artist.
It has to be said that with many things in modern culture, 'fickle' is the order of the day. May I respectfully suggest you get over it. As a music and art lover/obsessive I am occasionally frustrated by this too but there's simply f**k all I can do about it.
IMO this Swoon print is one of her best and as moving as Helena (especially in Pezlow's duck egg frame) but it costs more than I'm prepared to pay in order to have on my wall.
Just to add, I'm really glad I don't have blinds/curtains up as I have a veritable feast of moths and the like at my window. What's all that about?

Swoon 🇺🇸 Contemporary Art • Street Art • Art For Sale, by pfffffffffft on Aug 16, 2008 0:43:55 GMT 1, I think it's the nicest swoon print I've seen. The use of color really brings out her work.
I am surprised the collectors arent all over it. However, the economy is really rough these days...that said, I will continue to suggest that collectors purchase originals when they can afford them.

Swoon 🇺🇸 Contemporary Art • Street Art • Art For Sale, by rkitek on Aug 16, 2008 0:50:19 GMT 1, I agree with you and scavos that this is one of her best prints to date. While I too think that print is priced on the high side, I bought it nonetheless because I really like the image (and use of color) as well as fact that the proceeds are going to a good cause. Although I'd love an original of this particular piece, I'm sure it would be very pricey depending on the size.

Swoon 🇺🇸 Contemporary Art • Street Art • Art For Sale, by slowmo on Aug 16, 2008 1:07:44 GMT 1, Dollar getting stronger will take a very heavy toll on American releases.
Personally I am no longer willing to spend over £100 on any print. Its a decision I have taken and as much as I love this, I'm not going to pay that much for it.
BTW - am I missing something? Good cause? Funding an exhibition? Isnt that what all art does?
