Martin Whatson • Behind the Curtain Print, by nrgball on Mar 4, 2017 16:47:03 GMT 1, Each to their own, but why even comment here, if you're not liking Martin's work? The last thing I'd do is pop into another artist's thread, and begin to say their work is sheit. But that's just me. [br I agree with you - IF (note that is a big if) - this were a Martin Whatson Fanboy Site. Then that would be trolling. But this is not a MWFS. The comments seem to be about hype, business practices and disappointing those that wanted this, of which I imagine a number have been early supporters that now feel left out. The trashing probably gained its largest voice with the uninspired plagiarized En Pointe, which he brought on himself. This particularly release, hung over a couch or similar would no doubt look great and elicit admirable comments from friends and family, but taken in context by those of us with some knowledge also seems too easy. One would expect an artist of this type in this field to grow and push the envelope. Does he have it in him?
I'm interested to see if this blend of screen print, hand finishing and giclee can take him somewhere. I would be even more impressed if the giclees were fashioned after oil or acrylic paintings hat he personally did. That would demonstrate a mastery of techniques and pushing the envelope of mixed media. I would like to see a style change or development, especially since it's obvious that MW had talent.

Martin Whatson • Behind the Curtain Print, by The Fool on Mar 5, 2017 4:11:44 GMT 1, i find it humorous that the same 5-10 people post on the forum and cry after every GP release about how there are sketchy things going on because they didn't score. They then have to go on and point out how there are some posted on ebay (FYI - this happens with any valuable drop). Finally - posting one of my favorites, saying that obviously no one could have bought it because no one is posting that they scored. I mean seriously do you expect every single person who bought one to come and post +1!!!!!! like an entitled p*ick after every release.
Maybe those 5-10 people just blow at scoring prints, have bad internet, etc... I've missed out on a ton of prints - I've also scored on a ton of prints. s**t happens - get over it, don't need to come and cry after every release. It gets really old.

Woof - thank you for also pointing out another thing I love about this forum, shitting on people with a low post count - I forgot about that one! I find it humurous you are defending the people on the forum who whine and post the same stuff after every drop, but want me to post something constructive.

I honestly don't get it. If you think it's so bad, why not post and try to make it better? Maybe start a new topic of discussion. Because you haven't tried to do that, not once, in the three years that you've been a member. So maybe the problem with the forum is as much with people that contribute nothing expect complaints and "glwts" posts.

What do you think I'm doing lol - all I did was tell the complainers to chill because it's the sames**t different drop. I've posted more on the forum in the past few months than I have in the past few years.
Maybe one day I will reach an almighty status of 5 star active forum member and then my comments will be worthy.
PS - you are telling me I need to start a new topic of discussion, looking at the threads you've started I'd say almost 2 of the 3 pages are all for sale threads - amazing topics there. Also when have I ever posted "glwts"? Get off your high horse.

I said fair do's in missing out but just thought bearing in mind previous GP issues this should have been resolved prior to the drop. GP has since stated that Shopify had told him incorrectly which is fine. I do like the way that GP comes on here to give his side. It is a tough call making everybody happy but the most anyone can expect is fair play and clarity. I for one was well over it days ago.

As far as my threads go, even if your hyperbolic estimate was correct, that would still mean that a third of the threads I've posted are non sale threads that do start conversations. Versus your 0 threads. But yes, thank you for all you bring to the forum, it's surely better thanks to your contributions.

Martin Whatson • Behind the Curtain Print, by soam24 on May 4, 2017 17:39:07 GMT 1, Selling my Martin Whatson - Behind the Curtain with COA signed and numbered of 175.
Asking $625 in the states / $675 everywhere else.
Not home at the moment so i'll provide pictures later. But print is mint and flat.
I'm going to take these funds to my Pejac hunt as it seems this is the easiest way.
Thanks everyone for looking!
