Banksy - The Walled Off Hotel ★★★, by Daniel Silk on Mar 10, 2017 2:04:39 GMT 1, I wonder out of the millions of people who will read about and follow the news of this Banksy Hotel, how many are actually interested in knowing about the purpose behind the project, and how many are just reading in the hope of a Banksy Print release.
I'm sure Banksy knows this is all about using that interest in his work to try and draw as many people into the real subject.
With his site deliberately leaving people to guess what's going to happen, what might be available, it's making the most of that situation rather than a statement saying no Banksy Prints, Books or art of unkind will be released.
Do you think Banksy is disappointed in that situation?

1. The local authorities realise the media coverage the place is getting and want to make the street look better.
2. The locals don't like the media coverage and they have decided to do this roadworks to disrupt the hotel and planned events.

People are interested in the message of the whole thing. When i looked on the forum and read what he had done. I was like what a statement!Who would have ever of thought it!

I can't get over there (money allowing) until June so i am thinking that booking is a possibility. They may enforce a 2 night stop over at weekends (which would mess my plans up tbh but hey ho) and a midweek stay will be a prob for me (kids, pesky bloody kids). On the one hand I think I've every chance of getting in (by missing Spring rush) but on the other i am thinking, 10 rooms x 52 weekends = FA chance. Pricing may rule me out of a stay anyway (i'm taking the wife and she's agreed to visiting the West Bank, i feel that to now suggest bunk beds would be taking the piss!) but we will still travel regardless as having read up on it all week i need to get over there. I don't think i've been this excited about a show/event in a very long time.

It really has the feel of a KLF type of thing, and makes me wonder about how maybe James Cauty has influenced Banksy's work over the years? I wonder if they are in contact with each other much.
