Invader Aladdin Sane Print, by Deleted on Oct 5, 2014 22:07:31 GMT 1, the politics aside, and its a big weight to cast, I have to say that the US is possibly the most fascinating and diverse place I have spent any time in.Its an easy reaction to assume everyone thinks like Glenn Beck until you get there.I hitchec from Seattle to NY once, late autum, across the dakotas and into detriot and beyond. I never slept rough once, never went hungry. Arrived in NYC aboard a firebird, driven by a 4th generation Irish American firefighter, stoned to the tits and got a tour of the station and sat in an engine - this kind of thing never happened during my months hitching around europe.

Invader Aladdin Sane Print, by illu on Oct 5, 2014 22:43:52 GMT 1, and it's Page 44....I (and propably everybody on here) know how it feels when a,print is flipped on here for silly prices and I just won't or can't pay even if I would give my left arm to have this print on my wall, because I' m such a big fan of the image / artist. Then I fell anger and rage crawling up my spine, aware of the fact that it's only a piece of paper I'm moaning about. But in the end it's me who decides If I pay the secondary market price or not, not the flipper. Karma is a biatch and some flippers may get stroke by a lightning while having a shiat, but this can also happen to me if I just release all my negative energy on here, moaning and complaining about the Bad Bad art world.....and I don't want to be afraid of storms. hopefully everybody will, have his her Print of dreams up the Wall someday, but FOR know calm down, don't pay silly prices and keep hope alive that you will be one of the lucky guys at the next release.....or keep on moaning and hating and go to a bunker to shiat. Sorry Folks but this had to be written (incl. every mistake)

Sale for the gold is pending. Thank you for the interest and messages.
To those who were of some assistance, thank you for that.
To the rest, you apparently have a hard time distinguishing your ass from a hole in the ground.

Perfectly encapsulates my comment in this response
Not even off the introductory page
Sigh
No development, no understanding, just a ever increasing cyclical amount of repeated 'I've thought about this for 2 minutes, not paused, not bothered to develop any knowledge, but here's the truth'.
Jesus but hey at least out politicians pander to this level of development

Invader Aladdin Sane Print, by bonesy on Oct 6, 2014 0:06:18 GMT 1, I used to have a very low opinion of Americans. Loud mouth no brainers that generally can't back up what they say. I spent a couple of weeks in different west coast places last month and my opinion was changed as I didnt meet one person I didn't like. Fantastic people. Now you my little one star hero are in a league of your own. Good luck in redeeming yourself on this forum as it can be a very unforgiving place. I've been to Las Vegas about 10 times and sadly my opinion of Americans is still the same as yours used to be.
If you've been to Vegas 10 times that speaks a lot about yourself

Invader Aladdin Sane Print, by Hairbland on Oct 6, 2014 0:54:55 GMT 1, My opinion is that everyone has the ability to flip, but it's respectful not to (especially on a community art fan forum) and that I have a higher opinion of those who commit acts of generosity than those who don't, or than those who choose to take advantage of others for personal gain. I also have an opinion that an artist can easily remain successful while putting in minimal effort to help the less-fortunate who would much appreciate such; analogous to the wealthy contributing to charity (for reasons other than tax cuts), or lawyers doing pro bono work. Faile is a perfect example of an artist that does this, and I also consider these Invader prints fairly well-priced. I guess the main disagreement is that I view artists - inherently, as a profession - as less focused on financial success (at least to the point of vast wealth; everyone wants financial security and the ability to have certain things), since if you want vast wealth, then deciding to be an artist is about the last career path you'd choose. That's more or less all that I'm saying. Paragraph 1 is ok.
Paragraph 2 is not. If I was to step back from this and discuss FAILE specifically, I'd say that they have a style that they don't stray from, and might not be able to, and has a retro feel to it. For the most part doesn't seem to have a message. They're just FAILE. But one way to have a continuously hungry fan base is inexpensive items for new adopters. I like their work, have a piece, and for me one is enough. But I think KAWS is heads and tails above FAILE as to career development. Thus his prices are higher.
Paragraph 3 is embarrassing. Artists are artists because it is their calling. They are wired differently than lawyers, doctors or accountants. It is their profession.
But no sense in arguing. You have your opinions, some thought your posts regarding your points not serious...meant as humor...all good.
I'd say that the "street artists" that don't have what it takes to crossover will always release affordable prints, and the few that are chosen will not.

I don't see how the above re: it being 'their calling' or being wired differently conflicts with what I wrote; if anything, it seems to support the concept.
If I'm clearly mistaken, then maybe you can help guide me in the right direction.
Also wasn't trying to compare Kaws to Faile in terms of relative career success; I don't think that's fair (or even possible). Nor did I mean to comment on their art message; simply that they can both maintain success and manage to offer art to those with both shallow and deep pockets, which is very admirable.

Invader Aladdin Sane Print, by maddoghoek100 on Oct 6, 2014 15:30:26 GMT 1, i am an accountant and an artist and a dozen other things. i have sculpted, welded, painted, worked in politics, worked on spreadsheets and PowerPoint, and stood in line for hours to buy a piece of paper. I think assuming you can put any person into a single category and assume you know "how they are wired" or why they would choose to do a certain thing usually says more about you than the other person. I have no idea how any individual person is motivated by, money, fame, ego, politics, religion, loyalty, and doubt.
Invader prices and releases his prints the way he does for his own reasons, as does Kaws, Murakami, Koons, Sarah Morris, etc. Sometimes you want the instant sellout, sometimes you want to maximize profit, and sometime self doubt makes you question. It is just hubris or naivete to make assumptions, because there is just not even close to enough information available.
Paragraph 3 is embarrassing. Artists are artists because it is their calling. They are wired differently than lawyers, doctors or accountants. It is their profession. Not arguing, more trying to have a discussion. I don't see how the above re: it being 'their calling' or being wired differently conflicts with what I wrote; if anything, it seems to support the concept.

Invader Aladdin Sane Print, by Deleted on Oct 6, 2014 19:06:45 GMT 1, i am an accountant and an artist and a dozen other things. i have sculpted, welded, painted, worked in politics, worked on spreadsheets and PowerPoint, and stood in line for hours to buy a piece of paper. As it seems to go against both quoted comments.
I'm not saying how any individual person is motivated, that of course is ridiculous; I'm trying to comment on trends in behavior and motivation, which I think is a fair thing to assess given the amount of data available. I know that most stereotypes are improperly used, but I don't think it is fair to say that the origin/concept of the 'starving artist' is an unrealistic or unfounded one.

Invader Aladdin Sane Print, by chitownhero on Oct 6, 2014 19:15:41 GMT 1, POW says these Invader orders don't exist, FYI. Potential scam alert, unless anyone can refute with evidence.
Like I said, I hope for their sake they did report me. I am good at what I do for a reason, even with all boasting considered.
You don't honestly think I ordered from the addresses these are going to, or do you?
As IF I'm going to be sharing any secrets with you fellas.
Hearty regards,

Invader Aladdin Sane Print, by chitownhero on Oct 6, 2014 19:16:54 GMT 1, For the record, unless you are me, heh, the self entitlement should not even exist, dudes.
There is nothing you can do to stop my two invaders.
I will be sure to post a selfie with each print in each hand once they arrive, with the words chitownhero written on a piece of paper.
That's the only irrefutable evidence I'm going to provide, whether ya like it or not.
