Beyond comprehension how this could even be considered. So Bast is MIA on the print scene for 6 years jumps back in with this?? Disney characters and Trump. I'm embarrassed for him that he even considered releasing this image let alone that he actually did it. If this was dropped last Nov it would still have been obvious and lacking of any creative thought, now 5 months later after literally tens of thousands of every poke and parody imaginable, all he can muster is to further beat something that is literally so over done, dead and unoriginal. I appreciate Bast's history but for me that's no excuse for this. Moving on.....

It's average BAST nothing more nothing less. Way off from Pink Paris and the like but a reasonable end of show print. Compared to some of the crap cluttering up the threads of the urban art section recently it is as revolutionary as quilted bogroll versus Izal.

Thanks for the in-depth explanation! I do appreciate it. I've only been around since last year so I don't know the history of a lot of the artists, as some have so keenly pointed out. Good to know. Mine was just a reaction purely based on aesthetics - I do know that know that understanding the history of any artist brings on meaning to a piece. Its not the most pleasing to the eye, but then again i havent even evolved to the point of liking paul insect, so thats that. Happy that fans were able to score on this one.

Little over exaggerated with the "beyond comprehension" comment. Owning a stick figure and paying the amount they go for is beyond comprehension imo. To each there own. So because he was gone for 6 years print wise, you expected him to produce a 50 pound piece of gold in print form? Like he was out looking for the lost treasures the past 6 years?

To be fair and honest, this is consistent with his work. Much better then plenty older prints he has released. In my opinion this is much better then Pinnochio Iguana, Lotty Dotty, The Nose, Carnegie, etc. Some of his works are a miss for me and some I like better then others.  You were expecting what exactly?

His new style all alone by itself is unrecognizable to his old imo. I like the mixture of new + old. I am sure others have different opinions when it comes to his "style" and what they like or dislike. Congrats to all who got one.

I think with Bast prints it's also important to see them for real, and not just on a screen.
They're generally not just a printed reproduction of a painting, they're art in their own right. Even a print like The Nose, the paper is painted white and the red ink is super thick and stands out from the paper.
Same with Faile too, and it's obvious they work together (or used to more).

i like josh keyes, just not a fan of that one. Its not like a ride josh keyes threads like a pony!  I also like this bast and it has nothing to do with stik prices.

Not for me this time and really don't see much of a reference to Trump in this, apart from Goofy, slapstick.
It is far more likely, (from the print's name) that the 'devils peak' hair is from legendary Italian film director Luchino Visconti, mouth Stan Laurel and face made up to look like Goofy. The usual mash up style with lots of typical NYC, classic film and Disney references - are you ever supposed to get it, is everyone supposed to like it? … NO!

Love Bast. As mentioned above there is no Trump reference, or even allusion to him. It seems many jumped to that conclusion rather quickly which would imply they did not truly look at the work before forming an opinion.  

I really like the composition and aesthetics of this print.

Big fan of basts work but would love to hear his thinking from his own words behind some of his pieces (not just this one).

Maybe it's just me but I see the hair style resembling Trump much more than any hair style that Visconti ever had, young or older. In fact Visconti really didn't seem to have an iconic hair style at all, not to mention his hair was black with a widows peak hair line even when he was younger, so without the "Visconti" print name I don't think anyone would have even tried to make this connection.
