Restoration for KAWS, by bustin on Mar 16, 2017 22:04:06 GMT 1, I know there are many threads for restoration but mostly for prints so wanted to see if anyone could help me out with a specific issue. I have a KAWS 4 foot sculpture that has needed restoration/fixing for nearly 6 years.
So here is what happened - all of the 4 footers arrived with a styrofoam insert that was placed between the head and the right shoulder to keep the head stable during shipping. However, for my red/brown colorway, the insert must have fallen out at some point during shipping leaving the neck "dislocated." The head stays on but is wobbly and also leans forward slightly (but noticeably) when untouched.
I am wondering if anyone knows a reliable restoration expert for this type of sculpture in the NYC area. If not, hoping someone could give me some information on how to go about this and if in fact a restoration expert could fix this issue.
Thank you everyone
