15-16 . A lovers has never sold for this price. I own a few stiks so the higher the better but have to be realistic

Granted trying to get stiks attention for long enough to actually get the canvass can prove tricky 😂

Stik's print release rate and production is painfully low but he still has a high profile. Owners of the 50 lover prints that cost them £100 are in no rush to sell and I wonder how many of them are still out there!? £100 prints got stuck to walls with blue tack!

Envy Is impossible to hide. I find your comments pathetic. When you put something to auction you roll the dice. Say it went for 40% over market would he say ‘no mr buyer it’s too much’ life is a rollercoaster baby, the seller was old and wise enough to know what goes around comes around and he’ll get a win back from me when the time is right.
It’s a lovely print though. The orange pops like a dream.
You can buy it for £18000 😂

Not sure if it’s in any way related to thie resurgence of this thread, but there’s a ‘dealer’ currently sending out speculative messages on Instagram offering £18k for a client who wants one ‘urgently’.
No idea on market rate. Seems like crazy money to me, but I guess there really aren’t very many of them.
I am lucky to own one, but honestly I enjoyed it far more when it was just a pretty picture on the wall, before it became an ‘asset’ to worry about in the middle of the night.

No envy ‘mate’!! I can buy anything I want to - it was more the circumstances. It should have been a relist - Ebay crashed globally and bids were not logged. A gentlemen would’ve respected the seller (who we all know as a respected member here) and circumstances and agreed to cancel. I heard it turned very unpleasant....but as long as you got another piece to pump and dump, then that’s ok.

There is karma my friend but it doesn’t deal with trivial art shit.. I get the good and bad in life like most. I certainly don’t cry over a piece of art . I recently sold a piece for £2000 , posted it and the piece was ‘fucked’ apparantly on receipt The tube was fine and the damage could only be caused by the recipient being clumsy. Refunded , moved on, lived to fight another day.

With that little anecdote you've just proved that Karma does indeed exist.

Stik Lovers, by rebate on May 22, 2018 17:01:15 GMT 1, Its weird to see a bunch of people that no doubt snipe ebay auctions with the sole intent of keeping the price down, complaining that someone got a result due to an ebay crash! no one would have said "its ok relist it" not one of you. Ebay were obviously pretty clear about the situation too as ultimate liability lay with them. But they no doubt said oh well, thats how it goes with auctions!
Prettys**t to be attacking him for what everyone would have done! He won it thats that. If you want to be sure, dont snipe auctions, the buyer gets a better price so youll be happy, and when ebay have an outage your bids will already be in!
Anyone thats sold on ebay has had big results and big failures, thats how that place works. Just because this was due to ebay tech is irrelevant to the buyer. As is who the seller was, unless people are saying no matter who the seller was they would have let them relist it, In which case hypocrite springs to mind.

Stik Lovers, by k2 on Jul 27, 2019 14:52:00 GMT 1, Hello everyone, First time posting on this forum, so please be gentle. We have a couple of expensive big life moments coming up (getting married and moving house) and our funds just cannot stretch to doing both within 6 months of each other. So..... We are considering selling our only valuable and treasured print, whom we lovingly knick named Bertie and Gertie aka "Lovers" by Stik in blue. We are just looking for advice if possible for how and where to sell a piece like this. Also if anyone could give us a rough value as we haven't seen one sell for a while. We've read horror stories of scams and credit card charge backs from both individuals and galleries. The print is in a good condition, been hanging on our wall for a few years now, out of direct sunlight and we do have its COA. We are in the UK. Thank you in advance for any and all advice or help
Hi Sarah
I sold mine in March for £18k. It was also framed and with COA. It was an easy sale at that figure - I think I could have sold it three times over, and had higher offers from overseas but wanted an easier life.
Best advice I could give would be to take your time and ignore any unhelpful advice that you may receive on here with people offering you much less.
Feel free to message me if I can help - there were other people who were interested in mine who may still be looking. Perhaps I could put you in touch or something.
Good luck!

I’d. Guess £10-15 estimate and you’d hope to achieve higher.

Hi Sierrahotel,
Thank you for the info and advice. Do you know what the fees are for sellers at Christies?
Warm regards

Stik Lovers, by Zippy on Jul 27, 2019 15:53:38 GMT 1, Hi Sarah,
Welcome to the forum.
Your 2 options are as follows:
1. Sell Privately on here. Be wary of those who PM you offering to ‘do you a favour’ at £10 and will be round with the cash in a day! User Kernow has kindly shared above what he sold for so you have a good benchmark. If you are happy with £18k then state that and insist on a bank transfer and cleared funds before handing it over. Meanwhile, take some photo’s and confirm who framed it for you and what materials were used. If in any doubt, get your framer to remove it from the frame so you can share front and back images with any potential buyers to avoid issues. I believe you said you are in the UK, so once unframed, offer to-travel to meet a potential buyer. Also feel free to ask for references and check them out.
2. Consign to an Auction house. This may return you a larger amount but take into account fees, VAT and AR (Artists resale) costs. This could roughly cost you 20-30%. Your print will be advertised to a larger audience so could get you more. Christie’s might want it for September or they may say they have enough Stik and ask you to wait until December / next year depending when their sales are. You should also talk with Tate Ward. Both Nick and Danny are on this forum and I believe they have a sale in October ish. You can agree on a commission rate with them as they are more flexible than Christie’s. And you can also set a reserve you are happy with. So if it does not reach £x amount, you get it back and can then sell privately?
Not sure if you said when the house move and wedding are but take your time working out the best option for YOU.
I think you could use an Auction house and if you do not hit your reserve, then sell privately. If timings allow.
Good luck!
Hi Sarah,
Welcome to the forum.

Stik Lovers, by sierrahotel on Jul 28, 2019 8:26:28 GMT 1, Sell via Christie’s , I’ve had great experiences with them and they will have Stik works in their September multiples sale, including one of mine. I’d. Guess £10-15 estimate and you’d hope to achieve higher. Hi Sierrahotel, Thank you for the info and advice. Do you know what the fees are for sellers at Christies? Warm regards
Seller pays 6-7% on hammer price. Buyer pays fees on top incl royalty to artist. The benefit is totally above board, can’t get scammed with an eBay/ Paypal refund. Con is lack of clarity on price. You risk barely hitting your reserve, but can get lucky too.
If you do private sale absolutely insist on bank transfer (not Paypal ) before sending. Good luck!
