Invader, by Deleted on Mar 27, 2017 22:39:02 GMT 1, The waffles or the un opened kits I don't get. Why would you keep stuff in it's packaging and not enjoy it on your wall. The prints..I have a space one above my stairs, which in my humble opinion is a place where invader would stick it up on the streets as well (it was pretty difficult to hang!), and it makes me smile every day when I go down the stairs.

I quite like this viewpoint, though i bet they would take the piss if they knew how much you spent on it
mine certainly does.
i also have to bin my framing receipts. "You spent £300 framing it? This piece of ...... WTF is it? Explain it to me? Seriously? Are you ok? "

Always remember to say that you paid very little for it and it's now worth a fortune. And if asked to sell now, just say that you're keeping hold of it because it will be worth much more in the future.
Failing that, deny, deny, deny, launch counter-accusations.

Invader, by Dr Plip on Mar 27, 2017 23:20:24 GMT 1, For me, I get the buzz of nostalgia and the buzz of "How the heck did someone manage to put that there?"
If I were to have an Invader item in my home, it would be as a small memento of a larger event.
I don't know why humans do souvenirs or mementoes. Perhaps they are memory joggers and we use them to regain some of the pleasure we felt from an original event or experience. I dunno? I'm not a doctor.

Invader, by Dr Plip on Mar 27, 2017 23:26:10 GMT 1, Isn't it amazing that we like different things? I mean, one person likes trains, while another gains pleasure from putting mosaics onto buildings, while another person likes collecting prints, while another likes sniffing shoes, while another likes lizards, another person likes phone boxes and others like Banksy.
Or a combination of those things. Isn't it amazing that life works that way? That despite being trapped in these flesh prisons, we're still allowed to decorate our cells with different things. Things that give us pleasure. Make us who we are. Make us unique. Whether it's essential for complex life, or it happens in spite of it, we like (and dislike) different things. I find that amazing. And beautiful.
No, I'm not drunk.

I travel alot and it's amazing to see his distictive style everywhere and in places you never expected.

Yep, the illusion of uniqueness and choice make life what it is. But really it's just the predetermined composition of our brains reacting to input and changing based on the circumstances we've been put into. But since we don't all think about that fact every minute of every day, and we can't map it, it makes things interesting. The robots won't think it's as much fun

If by that you mean how sudden it was, I agree.
However the reasons for which Invader would have a large following are more rational than for Stik (global reach of his street pieces and his shows, already well known and decent results in auctions...)

Great story for you... yesterday I was in Paris as a birthday treat from my missus to see invaders show.. she has little interest at this point.
After spotting lots of invaders throughout Paris and having loads of fun at the show she is now obsessed to the point I've just received the following message
'I've been thinking, for our anniversary we should go invader hunting'
She was searching on his site last night the countries and hasn't stopped all day!
So the appeal really is the street art and genius, interactive approach with the maps, flash invaders and shows.
The prints are a basic representation of this but if you fall in love the game of invader you get hooked.
Spend a day invader hunting it's a wonderful thing
