I actually quite like it. It's not your standard e-commerce layout, so isn't quite as straight forward to peruse, but it's modern and forward thinking. More and more sites will look like this very soon (there's already a ton in the design industry). Plus, they're not a shop, they're an art gallery - so in my eyes should tackle their web-presence in a different manner.
It may cause issues for people that don't keep their browsers up to date, but you have to move with the times, which they are.

I'd rather see the whole uaa members have a print rather than eBayers or members with 20 posts...
Im sure that this community has given you a lot in this "competition" to state your own words, maybe it's time to give back no ?

I'd rather that people who bought them to frame and hang them got them. This will exclude long standing, multi starred members of UAA who have been known to snap up prints that are much in demand and stick them on ebay, here or elsewhere shortly after release. |

I came here to say the same thing. I try to see UAA as a community and as such, been trying to make some positive contributions of late; posting images and info of exhibitions etc. Its not just a market place. I went to the National Portrait Gallery yesterday, although its not 'urban' they had some great painting, I'll be sharing a few images this evening, if members are interested.

Invader LED Print, by soupy on Aug 22, 2017 14:24:34 GMT 1, it seems the way that the site (barely) functions and is laggy/slow/etc.... it's not going to be the quickest F5... it's going to be the lucky ones that can actually get the site to load all the way through checkout. i'm envisioning another stolenspace-like 2 hour checkout or something with multiple site crashes and reloads.

I use chase and they've been great (knock on wood) about not screwing with my purchases but that's what I would do |

Just out of curiosity, if that print sells for £1265 a piece, they will sell 100 of them which means they will make around £126500 +/- How much of that will go directly to artist and how much to gallery? if i had to guess, zero from this sale will go to invader. laz is the producer of this print and most likely already paid invader years ago when they were originally supposed to be sold. he was probably paid a percentage or flat fee based on his market value at that time. laz sat on these, let them rise in value and will now reap the benefits. |
