Nothing jumped out at me and the registration of the dots seemed pretty much on. Iโm picking up the framed piece later today so Iโll take a close look then.

The galleries use to ask the customer to destroy the damaged/faulty print and send the pics of the pieces as a proof. Laz is not a neophyte in the art world.

Usually artists/galleries are keen to preserve the integrity of a limited edition.

"Thank you for providing the images for us, having looked at these I can confirm that this is not damage. All of our editions are hand pulled by our experienced team of print makers. This hand crafted process does however mean that there could be differences from print to print. They have been signed of by the studio and the artist, if however you are unhappy with your print I will be able to offer you a full refund on your order."
Of course I am going to keep it, I don't want a refund, I want a mint print. I'm a huge Invader fan and want as many of his prints on my walls. It's a shame it's not to the quality we expect always as collectors from leading galleries. I'll still appreciate it on my wall. As for value, it is part of the run and we'll see what it's worth in the future as I am a long term Invader collector.

They're right - that's not damage, it's just shoddy workmanship. Damage in transit might just be bad luck, but surely they're fully culpable for this. Some minor variations between prints is to be expected, but to have a couple of prints which are like cheap half-arsed knock-off versions of the other 98 seems a bit rum for those saddled with them. |

Just instruct your framer to float it using paper Japanese hinges. If they look at you strange, find yourself another framer. Good luck and post the results for us down the line.

But ask your framer to use a Japanese fold.
That way you never have any marks.
