Incidentally I was intending for my second message on this thread to offer clarity, as my first was a little vague about the price I was looking for. I wasn't hiking the price, just being clear about it. Sorry if it came across as disingenuous.

I don't think you need to apologise. You did say you were looking for offers "at this price or above". If someone offers more than £2500 within 24 hours why wouldn't you take it?

I guess when it then leads to a back and forth scenario, squeezing two parties against each other that it becomes tiresome for buyers. Not saying you've done that.

What I've learned is that selling anything on this forum (and most places to be fair) is a ball-ache. No matter how clear/fair your pricing is, people just want it for less.

Well you are hiking the price, given that people have offered your asking price + more and you still state 'it's not too late to get in touch!!' to squeeze even more out of your flip.

I wouldn’t say weak! Gone slightly off the boil after the Paris show but ready to rise again during/after the LA show. Problem is, people were being too greedy - that’s why pieces still hanging around unsold. Doesn’t equate to poor secondary imo.

My price takes into account how much I paid for the print as well as the custom framejob. I may be biased, but in my view, this is the best framed copy of this print. Not to be a dick, but there has been one on ebay for 5k obo for ages. One sold Dec 1st for roughly 4300

Unfortunately for most that won't add any value. In the eyes of many it will actually decrease the quality.

People who spend around 5k for a piece of art are usually pretty particular about their framing.

Ebay seller is listed as a gallery/reseller and has 100% feedback.

I guess whar I am getting at here is why would i pay so much more for something that i can buy new with better buyer protection?

Maybe you don't want to lose money on it, but that might mean its just not time to sell yet.

I tend to hate pricing vultures but 2 seconds of research and you could have seen that not only is your price too high but it makes it look like you want to take advantage of your fellow members here.

Sure, one sold on eBay for $4,250, but the one prior to that sold for $6K, and a majority of these unframed prints have sold for above $6K. Why not mention that, too? I don’t really care if someone has it listed for less. I’m not in a rush to sell mine. Members here are not stupid; if they’ve been in this hobby for some time, they know how to check auction results and what’s currently out there. If you read my listing, you’ll notice that I am also open to offers and will provide a discount for local transactions. If someone likes this framejob and does not want to spend the time and effort (which has monetary value) taking a print to the framers, dropping it off and going back a month or two later to pick it up, and wants to hang this right away, this copy is for them.

Brother man, the whole story? Stocks don't trade at their high over a period or a low over a period. They trade based on the last most recent price.

If something exists in the world and it is available for 5k and it is not wanted it is worth less than 5k. Thats simply logic. The gallery is accepting offers as well.

So you dropped 1500 on that frame? And now plan to sell the frame for what you paid? Please see my previous comment above in reference to framing and value add.

I have one request, if you are going to defend yourself in the future it is best to respond to points made with valid counterpoints and reason. Not just the dude response "well thats just like your opinion man" or whatever the line is.
