Can someone try and blag me a special edition? I'm in hospital and have been told in no uncertain terms that I can't go after asking if I could "pop out" for a couple of hours. Feckin' NHS ,) I will pay for it - natch.

I think £40's the minimum these days

I don't get this pricing.
The increase from 20quid to 30quid to cover production costs i could live with.
Then the increase from 30 sobs to 40 & we are told it it because its a Faile edition & signed.
This Swoon edition is unsigned & 40 sobs.
That combined with the fact that contributors receive nothing for their troubles.
I'm out.

Good to meet some new people tonight. 11 and Dice nice to meet you and the usual crowd. Nice to have a chat and a drink. There are some rumours about the artists and the venue. If this is true then I understand why more people didn't turn up. I only found this out during the night.

the cost of booze in that place was nothing short of criminal. £7 for a Brooklyn Brown? I pay £2 in my local Spa!

Whilst we try our very best to get the Special edition magazines signed by the artist, this proves to be difficult especially with international artists and in this case the timing didn't work and unfortunately Swoon could not sign the special editions in time. We increased the price with the Faile special edition because there was lots of costs involved in that artist collaboration and the launch in NY but both us and the artists wanted to give 100% of the profits to the Braddock Tiles project and so we agreed on that price. Similarly with this issue we where keen to make as much money for Swoons charity of choice (TBC) and decided not to lower the price as this issue was unsigned.

Moving forward we hope to continue with the Special editions and hopefully they will be signed if its possible at the time. We work really hard here at VNA to bring these collaborations about and considering we don't get paid for our work at VNA (Except for a part time office manager who is on a wage) and its all done in our spare time, most of the time I think we pull it off.

With regards to the venue, this is the first time I had been to the venue and I know nothing of the owners or the work they have done with artists, it was chosen by our PR guys and it seemed a fitting venue for the event.

Thanks to those who came to the party last night. We are really proud of VNA 25 and its quite something that we have reached this milestone. Hopefully we can continue on this journey for many years to come.

Missed this one and by the sounds of it I didn't miss much! VNA do such a good job but without the siggy it's pretty much wallpaper! Sorry, but for an unsigned edition for that money it's a bit poor and the first VNA i've passed on as a result.
