To wall crowd or not wall crowd your framed arr, by Masong on Apr 25, 2017 23:12:35 GMT 1, Hey peeps. Just wondered your opinions on displaying your framed art. As we all know we tend to end up with more art than wall space. I was just wondering how people prefer to display theirs. I've seen people fill pretty much every square inch of a wall space, others space them further apart on the wall. I personally don't tend to cram them next to each other because to me you tend to appreciate each one less. Just my opinion of course. Maybe I just need bigger walls. Apologies if it seems a stupid question but I'm just moving house and am thinking of maybe trying something different. Thanks

To wall crowd or not wall crowd your framed arr, by Amber Halo on Apr 25, 2017 23:31:48 GMT 1, I think clustered-style and salon-style presentations look nice for certain framed art. And it tends to become inevitable as your collection expands. Have you seen some of the collections people have on this board? Deep waters!
Met, if I recall correctly, has offered a fair amount of guidance in the past on hanging art. Here's a pretty simple article that may give you some things to consider.

To wall crowd or not wall crowd your framed arr, by Masong on Apr 26, 2017 10:31:03 GMT 1, Thanks for the input. I'm thinking that in hallways and stairways you can get away with a lot closer positioning of artwork and maybe lager sitting rooms etc maybe stick to larger stand alone pieces. It's just a bit rubbish having framed art that's not on the wall. Then again it's all part of collecting I suppose 😄
