Coa signed, but not the decks? If so, that's a shame. A coa being signed is not the same as the artwork being signed, to my mind. For logistical reasons perhaps?

It does say "Signed in Deck" in the description, but it also says that for the unsigned edition so not sure what that means.

Maybe a printed signature, rather than hand signed. Kind of defeats the purpose if you ask me.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking. I emailed them to find out because I'm curious. Not buying the Weiwei decks, but I do like those Fairey decks.

When they are getting $198,000 for the signed decks alone I would expect them to pay for a plane ticket for him to go and sign them in person.

Ai Weiwei Skate Decks, by Coach on Apr 27, 2017 21:38:37 GMT 1, i'm a fan of Ai Weiwei but taking a selfie of yourself flipping of monuments and then putting one of those photos on a skateboard isn't exactly groundbreaking art
Save that gesturing that way in front of different backdrops has become something of an iconic image, albeit a simplistic one. I think the image is great. Not that fussed about it being on a skate deck (or three) though.

I think it's great. in context with the other photos it has a different meaning, putting it on a skateboard, which is what I said, and selling 600+ of them removes the meaning and makes it not great.
I have no problem with artists mass producing items and making money but don't kid yourself into thinking that reprinting a fraction of an art intstulatuon on a skateboard makes ground breaking art.

God I don't mean to be a Debby Downer, but all these recent releases have been so ... terrible.
I can't wait for a new release to come along again, grab me by the balls and make me scream 'yes, I want this'.
Metaphorically speaking of course.
