Invader gallery prices , by seanburke on May 5, 2017 11:55:14 GMT 1, As much as I've enjoyed seeing an invader piece on the street, I really don't get the desire for the prints, especially the famous images in invader style, people are obviously very excited about the values but as art on my wall I just don't see it.

Invader gallery prices , by meloveart66 on May 5, 2017 12:16:01 GMT 1, Seems the whole Invader thing is all hyped up probably by some investors (gallery owners?) to create a bubble in which some people gonna make some nice cash. Just before new print releaseβ¦mhhh. Seems is just all about smart marketing tricks. Organise a show (Paris), offer some pieces for high prices find some people who will buy them ( the investors, gallery owners themselves) who tells the pieces are really sold for those prices Keep on doing this for while and the whole market gets crazy and follow the hype. It's done beforeβ¦and will be done again and again. Remember "Exit Through the Gift Shop"
This is not about art is about the signature and the hype. So much nice art around for reasonable pricesβ¦but never these prints are shown on this forumβ¦

I hope, for the sake of those buying at these elevated price levels, that the values hold.

Not so if the 'buyers' are actually the sellers themselves...
Very manipulative...

Invader gallery prices , by natstan on May 6, 2017 3:50:55 GMT 1, I don't know how influential is this forum, but I'd like to think a huge percentage of buyers and sellers of invader (including the would-be buyers and sellers) look here for a guide on the market value. To stop this madness, I wonder will the prices tank if all (would-be) buyers were to band together and really stop themselves from buying any invader at those inflated prices? Maybe that is the only hope that anyone who don't have those kind of money to buy will see a major correction soon and be able to jump back on board.

The problem with that is people would be crippling their own art value. I'm sure people will deny it but buying art and seeing it rise in value is a buzz. I want invaders to be worth 50k because I have them. Also if you know you have x amount in capital In a piece you can justify spending more money on new art π

Invader gallery prices , by brut on May 6, 2017 12:19:53 GMT 1, I will not be buying any invader prints priced at 5k and above as I simply can't afford it. I am amazed at how much invaders art goes for now and yes I do get a buzz about owning a few of his prints and seeing the value rise which is a little silly as I would not sell them anyway. I have a signed Alex print and a unsigned albino invader which I bought from power over q0 years ago. I know they are not the most sought after but they look nice on my wall.

Invader gallery prices , by Octopus UK on May 7, 2017 22:07:44 GMT 1, Looking at this receipt from POW, I paid Β£100 for the last one they had on sale. It was that period when the prints were listed on the POW site but not for sale, then, one morning the 'for sale' buttons all went live. I picked up Eine's Pink and Blue Trains, a soup can poster and an Albino Invader for an crazy Β£359.99! What was I thinking? Not sure of the date.

Unsigned Alex and Shining $6500 Astro Boys $6500 Mona Lisa $8500 Prisoners $8500 They kind of executed the perfect strategy along with a few other galleries. Just buy up everything that is available, offer 'insane prices' for the moment, so the perceived value of the prints go up a lot in peoples' minds, and there's a lot of talk about the artist, then wait a few months, host a show and offer everything at 5x what you paid.

They guaranteed specific prices for the owners of the pieces in the exhibit, hence we have those prices listed above. From what I heard, the Aladdin Sanes were guaranteed a 9k usd payout if it sells.

Invader gallery prices , by Deleted on May 9, 2017 21:23:07 GMT 1, I get the early space invader caracters that he slapped on walls all over the place and thought it very witty that around just after the space invaders game came out and all the electronic computer game stuff etc. That some one slapped space invaders on walls in cities. ade from small square tiles as the tiles have the look of the computer game invaders.
After that it just looks like the guy got carried away making tile versions of Hong Kong Pooey and other cartoon caracters and it doesn't work for me.
I did however see in a small gallery in somewhere Vang Gogh south of rural France an artist had made an Anonymous mask out of the same tiles invader uses and it was very effective and looked good in black and white.
