Felipe Pantone π¦π· Exhibition News β’ Contemporary Art , by Cutkillavince on May 2, 2018 16:03:59 GMT 1, I thought it was funny as the pricing on these is ridiculous. The NYC print image was better and less than half the cost at the source. The aftermarket doesnβt even have prints reselling as high at the drop price here. Part of me would be shocked if they realy sold them all at this pricing. I was thinking roughly the same (although don't agree about NYC images being better), but the size, varnishes and diamond dust make these look considerably better than the Allouche prints. Or at least that's the feeling I'm getting from the pictures online. Same here, the image and the size are a big +

Look at the size, quality, attention to detail. People paying over 1K for Martin Whatson's with 6 different variants that sells out in seconds...
"The final product is created using cutting edge methods and techniques such as over printing, gloss varnish, UV varnish, glass glitter and diamond dust"
I've seen a couple prints with Diamond Dust and pictures will never capture the true effect it gives off in person at different angles.
I also love the Gloss Varnish/UV Vanrish over the hair.
I wouldn't even compare the last allouche releases to this release, not even in the same ballpark IMO. Side by side i'm sure no comparison.
The videos are a great way to try and show off some of the amazing techniques used. Super stoked for this one. Will be going for Red variant.

Felipe Pantone π¦π· Exhibition News β’ Contemporary Art , by kuni on May 2, 2018 16:31:36 GMT 1, Gonna take more fans out of this purchase than flippers with the pricing as you just proved with your post. True - Although if I was a potential flipper I'd be looking at that drop price and not seeing much of a markup.
I'm wondering how strong the market for ~$1600-$2400 prints is going to be. Guess we'll find out soon enough. At this price point, I'd have to seriously consider saving a little longer to grab a small OG from another up and coming artist. I guess I'm just bitter that I don't have more disposable income.

Suprised as well with the pricing, but than again, a great piece of art for 1200/2000EURO, and not a big edition. Hoping for for a blue. What does he sell his originals for?

And is obviously way cheaper than them. Its definitely a class apart from a standard print to my eyes. In terms of money, yeah, its a bit toppy! You could argue Insect's time to explode is long overdue; then again you could argue if it hasn't happened yet it never will.... But I'd be very happy to have that beauty on my wall while we find out. Hopefully going for the Gold one - thankfully my favourite is the cheapest for once!

This is still a beautiful print and of the highest quality, but simply due to the price and the cost of framing it is sadly a pass for me

Well said, he seems to be consistently moving the ball forward stylistically, and I really enjoy the recent works. The more I hear everyone heaping praise the quality of this print, the more I try to rationalize dropping the coin on it. It's the kind of piece that could set off an entire room, and for better or worse I have the perfect blank wall for it. I'm with you too, the gold is my favorite. I may just end up sticking to my lowly Bear Faced, but definitely rethinking it after reading through the comments.

I like what i see in the video but not the picture, hope it's more on the redish side than orange

Bits fall to the bottom of the frame. As stated in the buyer's guide.

I always feel that, only when an additional diamond dust edition is released on top of the standard edition *am thinking of you Hirst, but when it's part of the std edition ie original image *thinking Xenz and in this case, then a different story.

Agreed. Diamond dust is Adult version of glitter. Like Alfredo is the adult version of mac n cheese.
